We've been on a roll. Let's keep it going

Mitchell is a 4* on scout and 247. I expect him to be a 4* on rivals when they update their rankings. ESPN doesn't seem to have even evaluated him? Mitchell's strength right now is being a sharp shooter. He's not known for his attacking ability but he can definitely create shots for himself.

I'd be shocked if it wasn't us.

ESPN just doesn't update their rankings and evaluations very often. At the beginning of AAU Dave Telep said that the most talented player on the Georgia stars came off the bench, and he was referring to Mitchell. I'd expect him to be a top 100 player in all of the major recuiting sites' final rankings (ESPN, Rivals, 247, Scout).

Pretty safe to assume it'll be us with Coleman and Norris getting on board?
If we can add Lee this will be a really solid class.

Me too. 247 probably has him too high but I think the 70-85 range is fair.

@JCole30: Big day tomorrow lol

If Mitchell commits tomorrow, do we call him a 3 or 4*?

If Lacey was considered a 5-star recruit when only one recruiting site had him anywhere close to being one (Rivals), then Mitchell is easily a 4-star recruit.

just watched his video for first time.
Appears most of his game is shooting off the dribble from beyond the arc. Is grant going to allow that?

Well his game right now is basically being a 3 point specialist so I would assume Grant will be cool with that. I asked a scout to compare him to a former player and he said a less automatic John Jenkins from Vandy.

You're kidding, right? Dribbling out the last few seconds of the shot-clock and forcing a shot up is one of his go-to plays.
But honestly, most HS stars score most of their 3-pters off the dribble in HS, especially the PGs. I imagine if he had some AAU film, which is where he really started catching people's eyes, you'd see more catch and shoot 3s.

That seems to be a decent comparison, just based on the few minutes of video.
Jenkins was a rhythm shooter imo, and that is the second thing I noticed about Mitchell. As a coach you have to allow these guys to play their game offensively or they become useless(Hankerson,Cooper).

yep, hard to see much in three minutes of HS tape.

Mitchell will be a perfect fit for Grant's system. We really do need to just recruit a bunch of great shooters and rebounders to put around a PG who can create open shots for his teammates. It's the only way to overcome our complete lack of identity and purpose on offense.
That's why I'm getting pretty excited about this class. Assuming Lee pulls the trigger next, we get everything we need to offset Grant's ineptitude.

I wish I could shake the feeling of us being a top 15 team in 14-15 but I can't.
