Was curious about if they had any injuries and went digging. Found this from their practice report on the 1st.

quote:

Injury wise Vanderbilt was virtually 100% healthy yesterday. You had a few guys wearing red jerseys like Walker May but also participate in drills. Conditioning is the biggest thing right now with the team. Several players have yet to pass the physical conditioning test by the coaches and it's something the coaches expect you to pass before you able to play on the field.
Running sprints at the end of practice was hard for some guys and a few couldn't keep up

Seems interesting. Vandy seems to do a good job of keeping their injuries very close to the vest.

If this is true that game against them is going to be very tough for us, if we are burdened by injuries.

ex: If Sawyer & Golson aren't ready to go by week 1 we will have to start two new corners

I find this really interesting though. Mark Richt lost control of Vandy's conditioning?

I hope so. Then we will be able to score at will. Also hopefully our d-line can cover up for our ailing secondary.

That's my hope. Solid DL + Good blitz scheme + Freshman QB = ?

I like our odds in that equation. We'll have to find a way to cover Mathews though. If Golson or Sawyer isn't in, he's gonna whip us 1 on 1 every time.

He's not a Freshman. Three years ago he was the WAC freshman of the year though

And with them out a good portion of camp our depth gets so much better. Guys if you were a coach would you not say a player is doubtful just to mess with your opponent? I know I would

For some reason I thought they were still having a QB battle

Sawyer - yeah maybe but are you so sure we wouldn't be pushing him back too soon?

Golson - he has a torn hamstring doesn't he ... I don't know if he'll be ready if he does.

I'm very confident they'll both be starting game one.

No just tweaked. If we played Saturday he would be out there. We are just being extra careful with him and CJ. They'd play this weekend if we played. Junen by the next weekend. Sawyer by Vandy. Gross is the biggest concern. I really wish he would let us RS him but he wants on the field too bad

Oh okay well that is a big difference.

But if you and DM are saying we should be okay then I guess I'm not going to worry too much then.

He has a better source than me but I just can't imagine us not having Charles ready. I really think our coaches would rather be pessimistic about our players health because it gives Vandy something else to look at. I know for a fact Senquez will be ready to roll though.
