Baptists are famous for picking and choosing which sins they actually consider sins. They'll be all-condemning, fire and brimstone about certain things that they don't do. But then they'll turn around and do whatever the frick they like. If I'm going to be around sinners in a church, I want to be around people who admit they're flawed and don't try to pretend otherwise.

A lot of Methodist churches are just as bad as baptists, at least in Alabama. I was raised Methodist, but I don't consider myself one anymore. I consider myself Episcopalian now

Dancing, of all things, was a big one at the Baptist church I attended when I was young, particularly among the older, gossiping bitties. I took dance for 16 years, and remember the whispers & stares among a lot of the older female members of the church on Sunday mornings after a dance recital weekend. I was tempted, many times, to wear one of my spaghetti strapped leotards under a skirt, just to stir it up. In the meantime, their kids were out getting plastered, high, or pregnant on the weekends, but that seemed to be ok.
