Yeah frick that. It's cool every now and then but I like "I'm going to run over you, try to stop me" football.

Saban is right and deep down everyone knows it. Football was never designed to be played as a continuous sport, it takes away the beautiful chess match between coaches every play as they switch the personnel and packages and try to get one past the opposing team. It's not Saban's fault you can't recruit and develop players like he can, and we should not be subjected to pussy football because of it.

Lol this is such a bs statement. The game is played to be won. Football is progressive and ever changing. I'm sure there were coaches bitching about the emergence of the west coast and spread but these have become a regular part of the game.
Here's the thing, I understand Saban sandbagging this because his defense isn't exactly designed to stop it. As you so poignantly stated, its a chess match. Part of that chess match is recruiting. Maybe he should try recruiting linebackers that aren't 260+ and run 4.8s. This is all moot though, because his recruiting classes are almost always in the top 5 and he's still winning.
What's bothersome about this, is him hiding behind the veil of player safety. This isn't about player safety. This is him worrying about the direction some offenses are going and him having to adapt. Here are his options for slowing down these offenses: 1)stop them and 2) use his timeouts.
