2014 MSU commit Nick Fitzgerald got his initial ranking earlier today after film evaluation and camp evaluations (MSU and UGA 7-on-7 camp). Also gets another evaluation tomorrow at Big Dawg Camp.

2014 lb prospect Keith Holcombe got updated earlier today and got a deserved bump after video evaluation and camp evaluation. Also gets evaluated again at Big Dawg Camp.

Also of note, 2014 MSU commit Elijah Staley will also get another evaluation tomorrow at Big Dawg Camp and got more video on him today. So he likely moves up just a bit.

To add on Holcombe, a well-deserved bump for Holcombe. The video is obvious and good offer list, too.

Holcombe is out of Tuscaloosa. I hate to see the local guys leave.

He may be one of the most underrated LBs in the south, his highlights are very impressive. Very deserving of his 4* bump. He's also 4* on ESPN

He reminds me of Corey Reamer, who started at SLB on Alabama's 2009 title team. Very similar build.

If I had to compare him to a Bama LB I'd pick Reamer too... Similar traits.

Shame of it is, I could probably troll our own posters with this.
Holcombe was a border line 3* at an 81 when we offered, and will most likely take his commitment this weekend.
Fitzgerald was not ranked and now hes above a mid tier 3* at an 86, with potentially more improvements coming during his senior year.
What is Mullen thinking?

Well maybe they used their eyes and brain. Fitz couldn't start over an Air Force QB and Holcomb looks like a safety from a 1a academy. I don't think any of your brethren have a problem offering Holmcomb though. Just the part about relying on a basketball player and a kid who has never started a game at QB leading your dawgs

I guess that explains his offers from Vandy, Ga Tech, Kentucky, NC State, Southern Miss, etc
He just got bumped up to 4 star Bc people watched his films and once you see them you know he's legit.

Bundy, ask him how his 1 A Academy safety turned out?

What does legit mean? State you should beat out those programs for the majority of kids. I'm not saying the kid can't be good, just that he's not going to spark excitement because he's small and white.

Fitz played every game at WR and was First Team All-Region (3-AAAAA) as a junior in GA. He's the second QB taken in our class and has a huge upside. If he doesn't end up playing QB for us, he could definitely turn in to a solid TE. He was unranked and mocked when we took his commitment. Now hes rated an 86. I don't think this is nearly the stretch our posters are saying it is.

So....... What you're saying is that it doesn't matter how good of a player he ends up being if he doesn't provide excitement during recruiting?

You ended your OP with a "what was Mullen thinking" that's all I've replied to. You're mocking other state fans for questioning Mullens class. All I've done is point out why there isn't excitement.
