Not to be the guy that complains no matter what, but I'm a little disappointed that its not about 5-10 feet closer than it is. Still looks like it sits back quite a bit

KC I think they left those 5-10 feet because they need that track around the field (the same track that trumans fire truck rides on) it helps with water run off when it rains.

I'm right there with you.. count me in as disappointed. For what it cost to move it in, might as well of really moved it in.

F that gay arse track and fire truck routine.

Have to admit I was expecting more as well. Could def go without the track and the truck as well.

I know its "tradition" but sometimes you gotta change it up.

TBH, I'd like to see the Rock M turned into a water feature/fountain outside the stadium and free up the entire hill area for seating. But I know my opinion doesn't matter and I'd likely get crucified for such a statement.

Nope SEMO, you're not alone. I talk to a lot of Alum and fans that would be ok with "relocating" the Rock M and opening that end for stands.

I think there are more than we think that would be ok with that.

man seeing that really makes me wonder why administration thought that was 50 Million well spent? Guess it looks a bit better but not worth that.

Also, I hate that we have that track. Keeps the fans and noise a little further away which hurts the environment, and isn't real visually appealing. The good home fields in the SEC don't have tracks there.

Do we have any architects or engineers or whatever here? Moving it forward just to move it forward never made sense to me and I can't believe they'd spend that kind of money just to do that. Those smarter than me, does it appear the hill had to be relocated to where it is now in order to build that additional seating semo talked about? I always kind of figured that was the true purpose in moving it forward.

Really not a fan of the track either, but it's my understanding that there's not much that can be done about bringing the seating closer.

I'm not smarter than you, nor do I know, but my guess is that they changed the pitch of the hill to make it easier to add seating there in the future. Doesn't make much sense otherwise. Yeah, it looks better, but the change isn't that drastic.

So by doing what they did they actually prepped things for the future. Kept the traditionalists happy by keeping the "M"(for now) and improving it. Were able to show they were stepping up by making improvements immediately and it was one step in the chain of renovations that could be done relatively quickly. If that's the case, I'm all for what they did. If this change is all there is to it, then no, I don't think that's "stepping it up".

I was just throwing a ridiculous number out there. The point is that I guaranty we spent a shite ton of money to move a hill a bit closer to the field which is retarded in my opinion.

Why couldnt they have at least built stands (bleachers, seating) on the new hill all the way up to either side of the rock M? We could have perhaps packed in another 1,000 fans.

But nooooo....we spent the entire spring and summer moving the rock M forward a few feet.

WTF?

Sometimes I wish I wasn't a Mizzou fan. Perhaps I should start fresh and become an
Arky fan?
