Way too Early 2014 Baseball Lineup Projections...

So Chase put up his way too early lineup projections for next year's team and it was pretty intriguing to me. So here it is:
C- Knight or Allen
1B- Preston Overbey
2B- Dalton Dulin (Fr.)
SS- Errol Robinson (Fr.)
3B- Austin Anderson
LF- Braxton Lee (JuCo)
CF- Austin Bousfield
RF- JB Woodman (Fr.)
SPs- Sam Smith, Christian Trent, Jake Waguespack
Closer- Chris Ellis
I think Jamison and Woodman start in the OF with Bousfield, but I like what he did in the infield. Dulin and Robinson give us a lot of speed up the middle and with Anderson having 18 errors this year, a shift to third may suit him well. I still think Ellis should get a shot at the rotation and I think MB moves either Greenwood or Buchanon to the closer spot. What say you?

Man we will suck. I don't see Allen as a lead off

Pardon the poor wording. This is who he see's starting at each position, not the actual batting order.

Ohhhh I gotcha. I was about to say

you are right it is pretty early but it looks like we will have no power and pitching wont be as good as this year. I do like getting Anderson off short

Yeah we have no power batters it looks like... But the speed will help a lot. Hopefully we do well in OOC games and our freshmen are able to really step-up when SEC play rolls around.

I'm not buying into that speed talk anymore. Every year we sign the supposedly fastest class ever. How has that speed helped us recently? I don't remember the exact number but our team stolen base percentage was around 50%. That is the worst I have ever heard of

Yeah, Chase said it was a pretty terrible 55% last year. A lot worse than it should be. I do think it helps defensively though and I'm not sure our power hitters can hit for average, if we have any. I will say I would like to see Gatlin in the lineup some. I think Woodman will be a good one though.

AA frickin sucked in the field this year. what was it ? 20+ errors? My God.
I think Dishon makes a case for a starting job in the OF and perhaps even our leadoff spot but Chase knows whats up.
I would think our rotation would include Ellis? Dont see him thriving in a closer role.
Preston Overbey looked disinterested half of the season so he can pick it up or get the frick off our field. I cant tell you how many times I watched in person him go up in a big spot and swing at 3 balls way out of the zone. I'll take helsel at 1st all day.

I project that we will make it to the regionals or super-regionals but lose some stupid games and not make it to Omaha. In other words, have the same season that we have for the last 10 years in a row.

I don't know if preston was disinterested or not but we haven't had many tough players that would out fight anybody lately. That's why I like gatlin and helsel

Anderson has to field better. There are no excuses for that many errors. Helsel should get a shot at third.
Is Holt Perdzock a defensive liability at C? I don't know much about him.

People are shitting on Anderson too much. Even the all-defensive team SS had 16 errors (Frazier). It comes with the territory. SS is the hardest fielding position.
Anderson's FLD% is pretty close to average for current SEC shortstops. He had 18 errors in almost 300 chances. That's a lot better than some of the competition. Brian Anderson from Arkansas had 20 in 190 chances.

Anderson had 18 errors it happens My only concern is the mix bag at the plate.312 overall hitter but a .235 hitter in the sec.something is strange about that....He hit .197 last year and the year before 235...I think Mort spoiled us. Anderson had alot of throwing errors and range is a problem. Beware the next ss may have more than him seems AA had more than last ss.

Great story about Evan Anderson (LHP Recruit)

After an EF4 tornado destroyed homes and killed two near Shawnee on May 19 — it missed his house by only a quarter mile — Anderson spent four or five days volunteering around the area.

He told me he wanted to donate his scholarship money to tornado victims.

After discussion at The Oklahoman and with our program partners at the Jim Thorpe Association, everyone signed off on Anderson's wishes. A $1,000 donation to the American Red Cross will be made in his name in the coming weeks.

If we make a Super Regional then MB will be signed to a 3 year extension... Then DMagic and I will commit double suicide with simultaneous shotgun blasts to the chest.
