With the loss to UCSB. Daniel couldn't locate pitches. The ump had a large zone early. And our hitting left a lot to be desired until late. Kent and Martin both pitched well out if the pen.

UTSA at 2 today then we get the UCSB/OSU loser.

2 and Q. This team can't hit when it matters.

Regional was likely their ceiling.

I remember in the UTSA mid-week game, A&M needed some help from the elements to win the game.

I also heard UTSA didn't pitch their "ace" last night. Is that true? I imagine Ray will get the start this afternoon?

They hit in the 9th. Just too little too late.

Their ace is going today. I would expect Ray as well. Not sure it has been announced though.

I think we win this one but lose to UCSB again. Not disappointed with this season though, I was just hoping for a regional berth with the mass losses and SEC move. Last year still stings

A win today ties us with the 2012 team. That team underachieved. This team is about what I expected. I still think we can string together at least 2 to get to the regional finals.

As much as I know baseball is really a game of long run and short run results can be wild, last year really stung. We were set up too well to not even get out of a regional.

Good start. Ray is ON. We strung together some extra base hits. Now the lead off runner is on in the 3rd.

6-1 in the 8th. Go UCSB in the night cap. Let's knock out OSU tomorrow morning.

Would definitely rather play OSU tomorrow than have to beat them twice in a row. What will the pitching look like?

honestly with needing 3 more it's sparse. Gotta figure Pineda up next with Long on deck. I prefer Long vs OSU because he's more inconsistent but has a greater chance of a top end outing. But RC pretty much always goes in order so I expect to see Pineda no matter who wins tonight.

I suppose we could also throw Kyle Martin but it appears we plan to use him in relief given his outing yesterday. The good side of it is Jester hasn't pitched yet so you can throw him a lot tomorrow and you can probably bring Mengden and Kent back for 3 innings each or so Monday if we get that far. Maybe throw in Martin and that's the gameplan if we get there.

Ray going 8.2 really gives us a major boost though as we didn't waste any arms today (he wasn't pitching again regardless). The staff is thin as is and winning this game but using a lot of arms would have been a bit of a pyrrhic victory.

Here is a crazy thought.

Long/Pineda tomorrow, Jester in the night game, then DM Monday.

A little news on DM from Ross Stripling (from TexAgs).

It's funny you say that. Over the last few years, my sportsfandom has actually decreased a great deal. I really only follow college football (in general), Aggie baseball and to a lesser extent, Aggie basketball. I don't watch any other sports really. Not even sportscenter. But I've noticed I follow those more intensely than in the past when my attention was a lot more spread.

Rematch. OSU comes back to win 3-2. I like our chances after seeing UCSBs best last time.

I don't watch many other sports either really and Sportscenter is unwatchable unless I'm trying to catch the 10 second highlight of an Aggie game. It really went downhill around 2004 or so and has only gotten worse. I would kill for just one good sports news show without the announcers, who all think they're celebrities, circle jerking lebron james and other "superstars". End Rant.

I remember when the SC highlights actually showed the truly important plays to games and actually gave you more than a 15 to 20 second blip of information.

These days its just a random play by a "star" player and you are lucky to even get the final score with some stats up on the screen.

NBA highlights for example will be something like "The Heat and Magic went at it today. Here's a breakaway dunk by LeBron. Wade with the uncontested dunk. LeBron with an oop! Oh, and the Magic won the game."
