You must mean someone like this LSU babe:
Your "100 years" is a gross exaggeration, no offense. Women (scantily clad or otherwise) were rare before 1950. Look it up. A&M obviously isn't a quitter :-)

Hey, I can't control what James Carville does in his own time.

I was happy before! What did you have against 30 years? We can play this game all night. If you go back before A&M made the Corps non-mandatory I'll go ahead and admit defeat. I think you might have missed what started this: another LSU fan making the repeated idiotic claim that A&M ran away from the Big 12 out of fear of UT. A&M got out because the administration and others realized A&M would never achieve its potential with UT calling all the shots. If that's running away to you, feel free to your wrong opinion.

From my recollection, the only brawl LSU has had with Miami was after the 2005 Peach Bowl.
Their was also a brawl against Tulane if I remember correctly. Tommy Banks dropkicked someone.

It's my favorite ignorant argument. A&M ran away from UTx with our tails tucked between our legs!
Would make a lot of sense if we hasn't ran to a conference with the last 5 (at the time) national champions. Up to 7 now.
Hell, Arkansas has a better win percentage against us than Texas probably

"We appealed to the league for them to honor our seating arrangements. They denied it. We bitched for a day and then moved on.
See how easy that is, LSU fans? Trust your admin to try and do what is best for your school and the league office to do what is best for the league as a whole."
There's wisdom in these words,coonasses...bide them well.

Why do y'all insist on making this such a big deal when talking to fans of The Old War Skule?
LSU also had a mandatory ROTC program for incoming students:
Due to rising tensions from the Vietnam War in the 1960s, the LSU Board of Supervisors had no choice but to make the ROTC program voluntary. Prior to 1969, when the military program changed from compulsory to voluntary, the Corps of Cadets numbered over 3,000 and was one of the top programs in the nation.

So when did A&M lift the compulsory ROTC requirement?

Ya'll haven't been around long enough to earn the right to demand anything but adding toilet paper to your stadium restrooms. Patience, grasshopper.

Never even heard of that "tradition". I bet it's astounding.

I don't understand why all the OM posters call themselves rebels. They kicked Colonel Rebel out long ago.
Aren't they now the Ole Miss Black Bears?

Why don't you answer my question?
Posted on 5/25/13 at 8:47 am to WildTchoupitoulas
Would you say LSU had 3,000 students in 1969? Or more about 30,000?

When did A&M drop compulsory ROTC participation?

Oh, here's something:
Rudder's tenure (1959–1970) marked a critical turning point in the school's history. Under his leadership, Texas A&M underwent a dramatic expansion in terms of its physical plant construction, but more importantly, it diversified and expanded its student body by admitting women and minorities. The Corps of Cadets became voluntary. In the face of growing student activism during the 1960s, Rudder worked diligently to ensure that school continue to fulfill its mission of providing a quality education for all Aggies. By his death in 1970, Rudder had overseen the growth of the school from 7,500 to 14,000 students from all 50 states and 75 nations.

It looks like BOTH schools dropped the ROTC mandate at about the same time.
So why do aggies continue to hide behind that "compulsory ROTC" smoke screen?

Mandatory ROTC classes/training /= Mandatory Corps
But just tell me the point you're trying to make and I'll answer it honestly

Still not sure the point you're making but you highlighted the difference.
Mandatory ROTC for LSU and Mandatory Corps for A&M.
We are one of 5 Sr Military Academies. Our Corps is more than just being in a ROTC program
