Suits me. I thought we were trading them for aTm last year.

I think all the gripes about the permanent opponents are stupid. If Ron Zook was still coaching at Florida, would Les still be whining like he is? What if Tennessee comes out kicking arse this year or next?

The argument for doing away with the permanent opponents seems to presuppose that teams like Florida will always be tough and teams like Tennessee will always be easier wins, but that is not always the case. I don't want to see the Tennessee game go away, not because it has been a relatively easy win for Bama lately-if anything I'd like to see UT get better-but because <insert rhetoric about the rivalry and tradition here>.

Yes, LSU's schedule is tough. It was tough last year too when they scheduled West Virginia AND Oregon, which no one in the league office forced them to do. Maybe instead of crying to the folks in Birmingham, Les should quit herping it up in games. If his team is good, what's he so afraid of?

No, and here's why...

We are not Bama. I remember when Bama was caught cheating earlier this century, and their program was in the shitter, a bunch of candy-assed Bama fans started floating the idea of secession from the SEC because - and get this - "It isn't fair, Pawwwwwll!!1!" Yes, Bammers were just as a bad of a bunch of weeping pussies as anyone else.

But also, what Bammers and most everyone else doesn't seem to get just yet, we like wailing and gnashing our teeth. The emotion of indignance is second only to the ecstacy of victory down here. We're wailing and gnashing our teeth - at each other, at that - when we're winning.

When are y'all gonna just...

What if LSU threatened to leave the SEC if they didn't get their way? Then Bama in turn threatened to leave if LSU got their way.

WHO WOULD WIN?!

We just want parity in scheduling. Not a cake walk for our most relevant competitor.

I believe that a major underlying reason *besides* the scheduling issue* why Miles and a ton of us LSU fans would consider leaving the SEC, is that it seems that LSU's role in the conference is not appreciated.

For instance, last year we were a hair's breath from winning the West division (ergo, the SEC, ergo, the National Title), yet the SEC purposely lobbied/arranged for two teams that LSU beat (TAMU and USC) to go to higher, faster and louder bowl games...

The LSU support base became very disillusioned and the team unmotivated, to go to Chick-Fil-A, and sure enough, there was very low fan support at that bowl. We took a revenue hit, a loss in a low-motivation game (Alabama remembers the Utah game, right?), and worst of all, were not in our prime out-of-state recruiting areas of Texas and Florida (Cotton Bowl and Outback bowl, respectively).

That, coupled with the "temporary scheduling" to accomodate TAMU and Missouri coming into the conference, of adding Georgia to LSU's already-tough schedule, and Vandy to Alabama's already-weak schedule... Well, I hope at least that perhaps some of y'all fans from other SEC schools can begin to understand why we could possibly be pissed.

That is an immature approach. Exposing the truth as we are beginning to see is the best practice

I am sure the gumps would love for LSU, Florida and now A and M to leave the conference

If Miles and LSU people are this serious about their demands, then threaten to leave the SEC if y'all don't get your way. How serious are y'all about having to play Florida every year? Would y'all leave if you didn't get your way?

Jesus Gumps! Now y'all are crying for an even easier schedule... Does it ever stop!

This board has turned into nothing but LSU flaming. It's pretty sad. Admins need to enact e-genocide.

I don't give a shite about playing FLA every year, I think it's ridiculous ALA played fricking MISSOURI AND TENNESSEE LAST YR AND frickING KENTUCKY AND TENNESSEE THIS YR, and LSU played So. Car. and FL, and will play FL and UGA.

It's not about playing Florida, it's about Bama getting the daunting task of Mizzou and Kentucky. If Bama is the dynasty they claim to be, surely they can play one team with a pulse from the east.

Hands down this earns my vote as the most idiotic thread of the year. Gump troll honorable mention.
