Damn.

Course he seems a lot happier now...perhaps getting that NFL HC deal out of his system, dunno.

Cam Newton. That's all Auburn will ever have to brag about.

Lol he posterized arguably one of the best defensive backs in the history of LSU. Auburn has recently been good over the past 2 decades. Not exactly world breaking dynasty, but not a doormat by any means. If Gus Malzahn can recruit like say Freeze did this past year and actually get GOOD defensive players like Auburn used to have, then LSU will have some trouble. I mean, after all, didn't LSU beat one of the worst teams in Auburn history by only 2 points this past year I can't believe I'm actually sticking up for those guys. I guess I just hate LSU more than any team in the SEC atm

I've only been around him once and he was nice. Mrs. Terry was fun to be around.

Is that somehow less of a win?

If so we have some inspecting to do re: Alabama 2009 specifically.

I don't see it either. He has a hell of an ego, but really he just has a conflictive personality. If anyone messes with him, he'll frick them up. But in interviews he also sounds very strangely humble, so I think that people just blow it out of proportion.

Compare him to Dan Mullen. Dan is a douche and talks shite about his opponents and tries to appeal to the lowest common denominator. Saban on the other hand is a class act and will take up for his own opponent even if they're against overwhelming odds. He's a class act in my opinion and shouldn't be charged with the stigma he is often given.

Truthfully acknowledged.

More of a reference to change and future implications.

However, on the topic of Saban, truth is, it's just popular to hate him. Most reasonable people recognize him as a very down to earth human being. But the hate makes for good tv I suppose.

Nick Saban is a winner. That's all that really matters in the job he is paid to do. He wins. I remember asking Brad Lawing one time, on the golf course, what it was like to work for Saban up at Michigan State and he said, "demanding, but fair. Accepts no excuses. Expects you to give it your all. A workaholic. ... and you had better not lie to him or you are gone." I respect a man like that. Saban is a winner.

I'm the only one to click the up button for this post? Really?

Definitely not egotistical.

I think he is, but not in the typical way. He's clearly not full of himself, but honestly I think Saban's ego drives him to continue to succeed. His ego is honestly a good thing. It's not a Dan Mullen ego for sure.

Haven't read all of this thread, but did you post that you thought Saban could have been LSU's bear Bryant?

I think overall he is serious, but he has a fun side to him.

It may not come out very often, but this was/is a funny gif.

I think the word for it is driven. He wants to succeed and is willing to work as hard as he possibly can to ensure success. He alether ands the same drive and work ethic from the people beneath him and honestly not very many people have it. I probably couldn't work for him. I like vacation too much.

Yeah. He's one of the best coaches of all time. I would never take that away from him. Maybe he is different now but he was a real ahole when he was here.

I know two things about Saban. There is no better college football coach, and he is the best recruiter in CFB.

He has a massive ego, and he's an arse 90% of the time off camera. Who cares?
