I try to have legitimate conversations, sorry. I also don't really pay attention to the whinability of people on the internet. Everyone does it. I also don't give a shite how other Alabama fans act. I can't control them. I wouldn't have become this involved today, but slow day at work.

And to the bye week thing, why did others need to complain if it was an obvious problem with an easy fix. You seem to have some type of belief that had any other school proposed the same rule it would have been denied. I don't see it.

Now how about when a national sports media figure speaks Truth to Power about the current cross-over scheduling (not to be confused with the "typical cycle" of SEC scheduling)?

I'll admit, I certainly understand LSU fans taking up Colin Cowherd's banner in this and any other statement, because they certainly have fought for him tooth and nail when he's criticized LSU. He has the finest of reputations and could never be accused of bomb throwing or anti-SEC bias. You have certainly decided to throw in your lot with a winner there, good sir, and I respect you all the more for it.

Let me guess, that's LSU fans "whining" again, right?

Well, no. It's just you.

Holy frick this thread has 24 pages?

What the frick is wrong with some of y'all. How many times can y'all discuss the same fricking thing?

Honestly, I have no clue. I just keep checking back in to see if the conspiracy theorists have come up with an explanation as to why a long time Miss. State AD screwed over his own alma mater and employer just so he could screw over LSU and give Alabama...not to mention Ole Miss...an easier schedule.

Bama destroyed ND or do you not remember.

What does that have to do with Alabama getting favored nation treatment by the SEC schedulers for the past two years?

Cowherd is saying the SEC has been going out of its way to protect Alabama against games from the best rated programs in the SEC East--both last year and this year. The only real question is why?

To be fair, I haven't even so much as complained in this thread, just brought up a few (precious few) facts in the thread and poked it with a stick a couple times.

Actually I haven't thrown my hat into this ring. I want to play UGA, that's a great game. Throughout their entire football histories, these two teams have been remarkably close, without having played very much against each other. I also like playing Florida every year, and am hoping we get back the advantage in the series that we lost to them in the 90s.

I really don't care one way or another about Alabama's schedule - as long as it includes LSU every year. And yes, even if Alabama continues to schedule a bye before their big game with the Tigers. It's a tough game, they should really schedule bye weeks before and after the game.

Because no one else saw it as a problem.

Here's a clue, read the subject line of a thread. If it is one like the one we're posting in, it's not going to have intelligfent conversation. Stick around and you will learn to identify these types of threads.

Bonus Clue: If you want legitimate conversations, stay away from threads started by Hogs. If you want to laugh your arse off at aggies becoming hysterical while pigs wallow in mud, read them. That is all.

2012 Bye
2011 Bye
2010 Bye
2009 Tulane
2008 Tulane
2007 Bye

Bama the week before the LSU game
2013 Bye
2012 Miss St
2011 Bye
2010 Bye
2009 Bye
2008 Arkansas State
2007 Bye

Seems pretty even to me.

I RAd for an anchor. Neither side is willing to even consider the other's point of view and it's devolved into a flame fest, just like the last 15,000 threads on the subject.

I try to bring light into an otherwise dark world.

And I believe the other teams did see it as a problem that THEIR TEAM could six opponents could have bye weeks before playing them in a future year. Thus the new rule.
