So you're essentially saying that It's not a matter of head to head, just the path to the CG? Correct me if I'm wrong.
Regardless, letting the sooners dominate a conference is just like a really bad tease. As soon as they get in any kind of relevant championship game they get hammered or choke really bad. Oklahoma can get someone better than that.

Basically saying if OU wins the RRR every year they have the inside track to the Big 12 title. Like USC in the PAC they will be in the hunt because of their past history. What I am really saying is it is a matter of probability.
Sure Baylor was hot with RG III and Oklahoma State was hot with Weeden but those seem like 1 hit wonders than long term sustained successful programs so the probability of the Sooners running the table is much higher than any SEC team running the table as they will have to play and win 3 - 5 more difficult games on their way to post season success.
I agree with your bad lease example for the Sooners but I always felt that way about Southern Cal in the PAC. It was seen in the last MNC by the Irish being throttled by the Tide. Next season Ohio State and Louisville can both go undefeated but it will be less by real strength and more by playing weak schedules.
You can call me a SEC homer but it is just a tougher conference top to bottom than any other conference. It is tougher for a team to win just the west than most conferences are to win the whole thing.
As for Saban I do not think he is going anywhere much less any B12 school.
