My dad was born and raised in West Geauga and his family went back a few generations in NE Ohio/Western PA. He had a summer job down by the river the summer the river caught fire.
The greater Cleveland area does have some very nice pockets. Paul Newman was born and raised in Shaker Heights. Fall colors are beautiful in the rolling hills on the east side beyond I-271.
It's like anywhere else with a lot of industry past and present. Pittsburgh, Cleveland, Detroit, Chicago, etc.
