Much easier to say this instead of admitting that he's actually the coach??? Sounds a lot better for his incoming All Americans.

Who has Cal coached up? The guy takes HS all americans for a few months and change them like diapers for more HS all americans.

Calapari had already said in the past that this bunch wasn't coachable.

Darius Miller (who was a straight up headcase after what Gillispie did to him), Josh Harrelson, Jared Polson, Deandre Liggins, etc. And that's just at UK. Let's not act like he had nothing but 5-star studs at Memphis or at UMass either.

And that's just off the top of my head. That's not including the fact that he's able to get a bunch of kids who are spoon fed that they're hot shite to work together and play defense more often than not.

I have to totally agree with you there. It is what it is, he is an unreal recruiter that is it!

Their are multiple aspects to coaching and Cal is a great coach in that he has the ability to recognize and recruit elite talent and usually the ability to get them to play to their potential despite having so many elite athletes.

Others (Brad Stevens, Shaka Smart, Jim Valvano, etc.) are/were great in their abilities to get less talented players to equal more than the sum of their parts through skill development or schemes or strategy or inspiration, etc.

I don't think Cal should be demonized for winning in a manner that suits his coaching strengths.
