If he has the skillset for it, then I think it's worthwhile for him to work on handling those duties at times, especially in spring practice. His NFL squad may want to have him back there at times (think Dez Bryant) so why not let him get some reps there.

I seriously doubt he is the primary returner, but u never know, coach may stick him back there in a close game just to make the opposing coach crap his pants, lol.

ETA: Didn't Julio fielding a punt or 2 during his time at UA???

Trent handled a ton of KRs in '10 as well.

I could see Cooper being the "prime time" returner, as you suggested. Not the normal returner, but the guy called on to make a play. Such as DeSean Jackson recently for the Eagles.
