My granddad is getting into his late 80's and he's always wanted me to take him on deep sea fishing trip. We are going tomorrow on an 8 hr. I want it it to me a memorable day with my grandad, so Id rather not be throwing up the whole trip. Any suggestions on how to give yourself a better chance to not get sea sick? Please keep the smart assism at a minimum.

I convinced myself to never throw up again 9 years ago.

I can also stop bleeding at will.

Dont go into the cabin. Take some dramamine or that stuff you rub on your wrists.

Get a lot of good sleep tonight. Put on a Dramamine behind the ear patch and you're good to go.

and if you start to feel sick, look out at the horizon, not down at the water.

As the others said, Dramamine is the answer, buy it at any grocery/drug store, and if you are on the coast, most any gas station, bait shop, etc...

Or if all else fails, jump in.

Dramamine is child's play compared to Bonine. Doctors also recommend d it more. Meclazine is another option. Both are available at most drug stores

Isn't there also a wrist band you can get that fits tightly and has a little steel ball that presses against the pressure point in your wrist? I know people who use those for nausea - keeping pressure on that points helps control it.

Idk. That's the first I'm hearing of such a device. Sometimes it's just a matter of getting your sea legs under you. Like a bad hangover it takes time to wear off.

This. And make sure to wear a good pair of sunglasses. You can get sunburn on your eyeballs too.

Don't think about it. Sea sickness is mental, you've basically lost the battle already though

keep your view on the horizon and dont think about the water. You may start to get sick when you cannot see the stationary shore line anymore FYI

Be sure and drink plenty of beer. It will take the edge off and you'll be more relaxed.

Stand back by the motor. Fuel smell does wonders for sea sickness.
