Gus Malzahn was my absolute last choice out of realistic coaches. However, I will say that he's done a great job of hiring assistants and off-the-field recruiters like what Nick Saban has done.
He would have been a badass coach on the plains

Gary is happy at TCU. I'm curious to see what job leads him away from Fort Worth.
BMFP would have been a great hire but it was too soon after the Arky mishap.
Saban's assistants have been hit and miss as HC, but I think Smart has success written all over him.

Same for me.
1. Petrino
2. Patterson
3. Smart
Gus wasn't even on my list. He is doing great so far. Have to wait and see how the team performs though.
