Glad my name could be mentioned in this thread.

I respect everybody's opinion and I understand the heat that Stansbury got. Some good reasons, some just totally stupid and not informed. It seems that 1 issue eliminated all rationale.

Just a few examples:

MSU players on national TV fighting. Anti Stans people used that as a major reason for his retirement. It was an embarrassment. While that's true, it's not really an uncommon thing. As a friend and I talked about this week, it happens to the best of the programs out there. We were the only one to fire a coach who won 20+ games that this happened to.

Another reason used was the transferring of talent to other programs. This too happens to the top programs. A comparison: MSU had 13 players transfer out in the same amount of time, Duke had 10.

What is totally BS is that Stansbury left MSU with nothing. Like him or hate him, that's not true. If you want to be honest, the situation falls more on the AD. When Stansbury retired, we had a decent roster:

Hood (now at Duke) transferred coaching change
Lewis
D Smith Transferred (doing well)
S SMith Was dismissed
Steele
Zeidaks Was dismissed
Ware
Thomas
Sword
Gray Released due to coaching change (believe he set a freshman record where he is at now)

None of those are the fault of Stansbury. Had Stansbury been given another year, the only ones off the team from that would be Smith and Zeidaks. No need in going into other recruits.

Had he stayed, the dismissals of Smith and Zeidaks would have been the end of the world! Stansbury is gone and MSU has to move on.

CRR. I agree that he has MSU players playing hard. I like his interaction with the players during game time. See my pic below.

I do not think we should have ever hired him however. I feel we are past the point of hiring a coach with no HC experience in basketball. I also do not like some of the things he has done.

1- I 100% agree with building endurance. I believe in pushing athletes. No issues with that. My issue is there is a limit. Especially in basketball. I do believe his method has resulted in injuries due to going way beyond those limits.

2- We have a team, as pointed out by all, that has no bench and few scholarship players. They are fatigued. The schedule they play is not going to allow them to recoup. ESPN Quote: "He ran them through a 3 hour long practice yesterday". That was the day before Vandy... the lowest points scored in the shot clock era.

I could post link after link to medical journals and sports medical journals of research from all over the world about fatigue and ACL tears in athletes. To sum those up, Muscle fatigue will result in your muscles not being able to stabilize your joints properly . It then falls on the ligaments and they are not designed to take that. Then there is Mental fatigue. Ever done poorly at your job or on a test because you just can't concentrate? Basically the same thing. Then most important is Central fatigue. The results of all of the research shows a measurable difference in the landing mechanics when athletes are fatigued.

We had 2 ACLs and another ligament issue.. so 3 out of 12 players. The NBA currently only has 4 out 425ish.

I know as of this week, he did state that he was reducing practice. That's good news.

Gray Released due to coaching change (believe he set a freshman record where he is at now) - starts for a team that is 9-17

That's a lot of words... Allow me to summarize:

"The 2012-13 MSU Bulldog Basketball team is the worst dumpster fire in the history of SEC basketball... GTHOM"
