Just watching the NFL Combine for offensive linemen. I can't remember if the last staff passed over him for a younger prospect or if he just chose FSU over Auburn (does anyone remember), but Mike Mayock said that he could potentially be a first round pick in this year's NFL Draft.

We could've really used him this year at right tackle while Patrick Miller was getting his arse handed to him. He wouldn't have been there long, as he came from a JuCo, but he could've been a quick fix.

He chose FSU over AU. Staff didn't push too hard though if I recall correctly

Yeah. I wanted this guy bad just from his sheer size. He was like 330 coming out of JUCO.

IIRC we wanted him. We backed off for a period of time but in the end we wanted him.

He still would have been coached by our previous staff soooo...it wouldn't have mattered

It would have mattered JUCO's need less coaching to still be successful, i.e. Nick Fairley. And besides its not like FSU is known for producing NFL o-lineman on a regular basis either.

IIRC, he hadn't been playing football that long. He played college basketball at Marist college from 2009-2011 and then transferred to Saddleback College for football. After 1 season of football, he signed with Florida State and played football there. He didn't have a lot of experience.

True. I forgot about that, but apparently this guy was born to run ppl into the ground. He's a big NFL prospect after one year of coaching at JUCO and one at FSU. Dudes a natural.
