Ahhh. . . so I see there is still some bitterness betwixt(Auburn & LSU) us regarding the whole conrdog thing
was just a general statement, didn't know Aubie "claims" the nickname, you young folks are freaks FWIW

Recall the press conference where he went off on reporters for saying his players underachieved? I dont think coaches read message boards and sports pages but I do think they are aware of public opinon and perception
well the question was asked directly to him at the PC and LSU/Miles got about a weeks worth of national recognition from it
The one thing I think LSU fans would say about Les Miles is that he gives zero fricks what the fanbase wants or cares about...some say that is the right thing (ME) others not so much
Miles leaves when he wants to leave IMHO. Of course that could change but ask me today and that's the answer. I don't think Richt has that ability but could be wrong there too

Great thread. Richt was maybe 6 yards or one play from the national title and Miles played in the NC the year before and went 10-3 this year.
Georgia and LSU are indeed in shambles.

It would shock me if LSU got rid of Miles, but I could definitely see Richt getting let go if he has a couple down years.

Mark Richt is a different story. Georgia has consistently won 9-10 games during his tenure but their last SEC Championship was in 2005. Do Dawg fans really think he can win another SEC title much less a NC? He's a great guy and coach but what has he done lately besides beat Auburn?
He was 5 yards away from whipping Notre Dame in Miami
He's also building up a winning vs Florida

Can't reason with the Aub's these days. Their entire atheltic program with the exception of swim/diving/equestrian are in the cellar of the conference. And yet they have to never to start shite threads like this about two coaches that have owned their arse for damn near a decade.

Which ever is further away from needing a new hip

I get that these two are now the longest tenured HC in the SEC
but that isn't the worst thing in the world. Should have thrown Saban in here too, that way we could decide of the three most successful SEC HC's who's gone first
better question IMO is of the new hires who is gone first??? Im sure that has been a thread too many times to start another but I might

What the ha are are you talking about...UGA/Richt has been in the SEC Championship 2 years running...
LSU has made changes in the last 30 days to fix or maybe fix their offensive whoas, not many teams will in the SEC with really poor offense but LSU has...

I've bookmarked this thread to bumped at the end of the season to see if you guys are all so nonchalant about the state of your programs then

Last Man Standing: Mark Richt or Les MilesSeems like they've both hit a wall at their respective schools.
One year removed from a conference championship and invite to the national championship game is 'hitting a wall'?
I award you 2.33 (repeating, of course)/10.
Carry on...

Ask Eugene Chizik

so exactly which game did Miles "piss away" last year??
I know it all seems like a bad dream, but the Clemson game really did happen.

Ask Eugene Chizik
If anything Miles and Richt have proven they can win consistently, something Chizik cannot say. His success was made possible by two awesome one-and-done players and a senior-laden class recruited by Tuberville.

Uh…Nick Fairley?
ETA: And I know Fairley played on the '09 team, but his impact that year was practically zero.

But if he played two years he would not be considered a one-n-done. Does that not compute in Bama math?

CMR will last longer
I am not saying that he is a better coach by any means because that is not the case. I simply don't think that Les could survive a Liberty Bowl loss to UCF, heads would roll. CMR has already survived the only true chance to get shite canned. It's just a difference of culture within the respective Athletic Departments, we are content with pussy footing around with Dudley Do-right; something I will never understand.
Of course all of this is moot if he packs up in 3 years and decides to travel the world and dedicate his life to helping the shite slingers of 3rd world countries.

Nobody is being nonchalant about it. LSU fans, nor the SEC, have any reason to think Miles won't leave on his own terms at some point in the future and LSU will still be in great shape. If you are alluding to the possibility that Miles may usher in the demise of LSU football then I'll say this: He's been at the helm of LSU for 9 years and LSU hasn't skipped a beat minus 2008. All the prognosticators indicated Miles would ruin the program...yet here we are, 9 years later, and LSU is still just as relevant to the national football scene as is any elite program. There are many other SEC schools that wish they had the stability LSU has had under Miles.
