Now that Collins is signed and sealed what's the Rant's opinion of Bielema's first recruiting class? Personally I think he did a damn good job considering we had a lame duck staff that didn't do much recruiting all season and he had 2 months to clean house and rebuild his own class. Rankings wise this class is as good as any class Petrino had and much better than his classes at Wisky. A lot of people were skeptical of his focus on South Florida but it looks like it is already paying off.

What does the Rant say?

You know you will get a ton of flames, but i think it was pretty good. He got you guys from the 60's to the 20's in the recruiting rankings in a short time. That's damn good.

Of course the Collins pickup was nice as well.

Minus the Alex Collins signing you were pretty average but considering what BB does offensively and from a philosophical standpoint, getting Collins and a few OL indicates that he was a success.

The new Arkansas, Auburn and Kentucky staffs all had high success considering their starting positions this signing period.

Tennessee needs to figure something out because if Jones doesn't cut it, they risk falling into obscurity. In a couple years, no recruit will have been old enough to remember the last time UTk made it to the SEC championship game or were relevant

It wasnt bad by Arkansas' standards but when put in the context of the SEC West it would be hard for me to be excited about it as an Arky fan. Hell, A&M had a top-10 class but I'm not losing my mind over it like I would have in the Big XII because we were still 4th in our own division. Just my opinion

Not to mention we will most likely close on the 2 huge 4* DT's...Raef Peavey will be one of the top QB's in the nation who is a current commit. Starting out nice for 2014

Hell of a job. Pulling Collins was a coup. Skipper and Kirkland should be good lineman as well. Truthfully all the new staffs sans UT did well.
