I thought TWC started this nonsense. I laughed my arse off when they got to Winter Storm Gandalf. Weather nerds.

They did. I think the one right now is Nemo or some shite like that.

NBC owns TWC.
And yes, the names are stupid.
Hurricanes only need names cause they are essentially one system and the big ones will stay together for a week or more.
these named winter storms form quickly and disapate fairly quickly. no time to discuss for days on in about "nemo" or the like.
