I haven't seen Bateman mentioned. Has he been that bad? Is there any hope for him a couple of years into the system?

Some posters on here dont like it. He will be an honorable back up.
Cornwell's size is soooooo damn good. I want a qb for 4 years. He is the one. If we are going to have a weak qb next year better it be one that can play for 4 years.

We have been very lucky with starting qb's so you know that one day our luck will run out. I would love to have a young starter and a very solid backup, that would be fine with his role as a backup.

Bateman is very much the same QB as far as body/skill set/arm that AJ was out of high school. The problem is Bateman if you've never heard him talk sounds like Bieber ie he hasn't hit puberty yet. I liked Bateman a lot and still do but his interview and his appearances on ESPN soured me on him. The guy is a lot more mobile than people give him credit for though (in fact for a while either Scout or Rivals had him listed as a Dual Threat QB). He just had a light frame that some bulk will need to be added to. If he comes out during spring still under 215 with that frame then he will still be considered "light".

I am on the Cornwell bandwagon more than anyone.
We should all be on this bandwagon.

I just watched Humphrey's highlights again. I want that kid to be in crimson soooo bad. I'm trying to temper my expectations because I know I might be disappointed
The kid has everything: size, speed, instincts. I feel like he'd be a starter by midyear.

Bateman had more impact for his team his senior year as a runner than as a passer.
They had something happen to like 2 coaches and their entire team went fubar. They had 4-5 D1 players on offense, yet were averaging less than 12 points a game. Had a game where they had 3 fumbles in less than 5 minutes, ugly offense all around.

All we need to do is get through next year with a competitive offense and then the real QB race is on with Town coming in who is the #1 QB for 2015

True. But he is better then any QB currently at Bama. Which is sad.
No you ASSUME he is better than anyone at Bama. No one on this board knows who the best is, but from Aday Morris was clearly the 2nd best.

TUSCALOOSA, Alabama -- Auburn High's Rashaan Evans enjoyed playing at Bryant-Denny Stadium so much that his first time competing on Alabama's home field may not be his last
Evans (6-3, 220), one of the state's most coveted, uncommitted recruits, played in his last high school game tonight as the Tigers lost 20-3 to Hoover in the Class 6A state championship game. He recorded five tackles, two quarterback hurries and a sack.

Whoever gets him seems to be getting a great kid. Wish we were more of a threat.
