bamasgot13, you are wrong.Fans have been complaining bout the league office being in B.ham for decades. It's just now gotten more prominence with the internet, blogging, and much more radio talk shows. A good friend was LSU's alumni chapter president there for 17 yrs, and he said that every 2 yrs or so, all the schools in the conference would send a poll out to their chapter presidents located there, covering a wide variety of issues. Each poll always included the question "Should the league office remain in B.ham". My friend, knowing the various chapter presidents socially thru the yrs, said that it was always a resounding 1000% "get us the hell out of here" response. Issues over bad calls did not orginate with instant replay. No one can honestly say that bama has ever benefitted from some grand conspricacy. But there is a most definite bias towards bama. Change the city to Gainsville, Athens, have the league director of scheduling, officiating, numerous other league employees etc be either a gator or gawg alum, have the same questionable issues come up, and you know damn well hell would be raised. Just cann't see a parade of live gators stopping by the league office in Gainsville, however.

Seriously though, they need to move it to a city that can at least handle SEC Media Days. The media members can't even get decent cell phone service in B'ham.

Please, bama's been screwed by the refs for the better part of the last 20 years. We haven't had that many controversial calls go our way.

Nah Houston, New Orleans and Atlanta would be the best cities for the office. It needs to be in a metropolitan hub.
New Orleans and Birmingham metro populations are actually almost the same (NOLA=1.17M Birmingham=1.13M).
This whole thread is kind of silly. It's an administrative office who's location is not really critical. Birmingham is really the most central metro area to the surrounding states. While I think moving the SEC championship game to the GA Dome was a good move as the facility is so nice, the rationale for moving the administration comes from the tin-foil hat crew

Except its pretty clear that Bama fans don't want it moved at any cost.

"Who's location is not really critical". So if it was relocated to Nashville, Athens, etc, all the bama alums who are rank & file employees would pack their bags & move as well? Obviously, the higher ups would move because of their salary. As well, as for it just being " an administrative office": doubtful any office that runs the most powerful & successful college football league would ever be called just an "administrative office". That building calls the shots for a multi multi million dollar business.

There's not reason to move it, because there's nothing wrong with where it is. If you disagree, lol.

FlukerFlakes, odds are smarter than one who uses "ain't", anyway.
