As someone who grew up in Birmingham, I think that the Finebaum show is a shell of what it once was. He has been phoning it in for a while now. I mean, how many times a week does he miss the first hour of the show and let his producer fill in?
I know it was the right move for him financially, but in Alabama, the show started to die when he went national. It lost what Finebaum was about. It was always trash radio, but it was local. That's what drew everyone in. You didn't have to wait on hold for 3 hours to give an opinion on the Tennessee game. All the callers were idiots from Vestavia or Hoover or Montgomery, not idiots from Indiana and Ohio.
I think the Roundtable is a great show, and I wouldn't count it as dead in the water as soon as Finebaum returns. In Birmingham, at least, a 3-month hiatus could be a bad thing for him. I know a lot of people are over Finebaum, but there is no afternoon drive alternative. Three months of the Roundtable could win them over.
Sure, when Finebaum comes back there will be a ratings surge for him, but I feel like a lot of people will quickly remember why they were getting tired of him and possibly tune out.

One thing you have to give the guy, he's a very good interviewer. Knows what questions to ask and rarely throws a softball.
I actually agree with this. Can't stand listening to the retards who call in about their personal life tho.

A wake will be held tomorrow on the concourse of Bryant-Denny stadium with "Legend" and "Jim from Tuscaloosa" officiating.
Meanwhile, officials in Auburn will allow the trees at Toomer's Corner to be rolled from 6 - 7 PM tonight in celebration.

Unless MAJOR news is breaking, I tend to wait for him to put the podcasts of his interviews on his website so I can bypass the Jerry Springer part. His interviews are usually quite good.

The Roundtable is the best show on that station anyway.

What will poor Tammy do? Who will she call and tell about all of her embarassing sexual encounters? She is one that I certainly won't miss.

That woman is just noise pollution on the radio.

fricking THIS x1000000
I'm listening to 97.3 most all the time now simply to hear about something other than Nick Saban. I've emailed their program director already telling them the only reason I listen to their station is so I don't have to hear Finebum. He's awful.

It's hard not to sound homerish when Bama was in the SECCG and all of the hype building up to the NCG while auburn wasn't in a bowl. I'm not flaming, just making the point that Bama was in the spotlight more than normal the past couple months
BS. Finebaums been blowing Saban n Alabama for years. Disgusting.
