I was just reading about an offensive guard we recruited He is 6'3" and 330 pounds. He can only bench 315 which is not even pressing his weight. He runs a 5.5 forty which seems awfully slow for a pulling guard. He is a 3 star and only ranked the 45th best guard. Seems like we could do better. We signed him and because of his work ethic and great coaching he became the hands down best guard in America and will be a top draft selection. His name: Chance Warmack.

It's why camp is so important to evaluate players up close.
Sabans strong point is player evaluation.
They need to take the restrictions off head coaches ability to recruit.

I caught shite for saying he might be our best run blocker after the 2010 season.

It's really incredible. His progression from question mark to possible top 10 NFL draft pick. Then again, this whole damn thing is incredible. When Saban was hired I cautiously hoped for one national title. Needless to say my expectations have been surpassed

Yeah, I remember during and after the 2010 season people speculating that he might/should lose his starting job despite the fact that the coaches said he graded out as the top lineman a few games. By the end of the 2011 season people started calling him the best OG in the country. Quite a turnaround.

Mine also. When Coach Saban arrived all I knew about him was from his stints at Mich. St. and LSU.I knew he was a tremendous upgrade from Perkins,Dubose,Fran,Shula. When he talked about his "Mission Statement" at the press conference I had a feeling Bama had just hired a Great Coach.I had no idea what was in the future.

I doubt anyone could have predicted this. 3 national titles in 6 seasons? Even the most staunch sunshine pumper would waver at that thought. It's one of the more remarkable things I've seen in my lifetime.

IMO we have the greatest living football coach. Just let that sink in and no worries.

I'll just say that Coach Saban and Bama coming together was "The Perfect Storm".A Great Coach and a University and Fan-base that will go the extra mile for a winning team. What do you need Coach? No problem. We'll get right on it.
