I'm not anti-AAU or anti-research, I just think a university's main role is teach students. AAU is for schools with specific goals. Just because other schools don't share the same goals doesn't mean they have failed at their own missions.

The University of Missouri is growing a lot, and the fact that we've got so many different schools contained within the university isn't helping us or our rankings.

As things settle down, growth slows, and things start to normalize, we'll get back to where we should be. That being said, we'll probably top out in the 50s or 60s in the rankings, but that's not too shabby considering we'll still be the only real university in the state.

Unless Missouri State starts picking it up and giving Mizzou a run for top level students and allows Mizzou to start getting a little more selective.
