I guess I was just so engrossed in Alabama title run and Auburn's abortion of a season to even notice but holy frick, First time since 1915 or some retarded shite like that that Vandy had 9 wins.
Flame me if you want but this just blew my mind this morning when I heard it on the radio. Not only because I hadn't realized it, but also because somehow, I hadn't realized it.
Probably also had something to do with my break from the SECr for a bit there. This place just got stupid for a while.

They also finished in the AP Top 25 for the first time since 1948 and finished in the Coaches Poll Top 25 for the first time in their history.

Appears you are helping it to maintain that status

They also have learned how to log onto the SECRant all of the sudden.

You mean we actually have some vandy fans here now? I did notice I saw one the other day that I didnt recognize but I didnt think much of it. Nice, thats a fanbase we have been missing for a while.

You certainly do your part too. Don't point fingers...

In other news, water is wet, lettuce is green and footballs are egg shaped... Just realized all this cause I've been fapping my brains out to teenage and early twenty something athletes.

Yeah, I started to say something but I just decided to ignore him. I personally thought I made the SECr a brighter and happier place but obviously he thinks otherwise.

They had a great team in 1906 that was nearly good enough to qualify for a NC, but not quite. (Yale was still ascendent back then.)
[EDIT: Vandy, 8-1 that season, would get the claim if they had beaten Michigan, but they lost a tough one at Ann Arbor, 4-10. Michigan of course claimed national titles for four years in a row from 1901 to 1904. The 1906 Vanderbilt team also beat Alabama 78-0 that fall.]
I still think LSU deserves to be honored with the South's first national title for the 1908 team, but you know, Tulane whined like bitches about "ringers" or whatever, and so we don't claim it, while Georgia Tech claims Heisman's title from 1917 when the U.S. had already entered the Great War.
It's all water under the bridge now. I've moved on. It was great being recruited by LSU in 1907 though.

the goal post came down in 1982. it took them 30 years to win again in Nashville.
You'll note that even with that, we didn't deem it noteworthy enough to take them down this time...

They're having a good year recruiting right now also. #15 nationally on rivals.

They are going to compete in the East and freak everyone out over there. I can't wait.

You don't strike me as the particular type of Alabama fan that comes into contact with people who went to Vanderbilt on a regular basis.
