Alden On Renovations
The video does give you a new inside the stadium look of the east expansion and what the hill will look like for next season.

I'm gonna bet I'm one of the few that thinks the hill is an unimpressive pile of rocks.

I'm not a big fan of the hill, personally. It wouldn't bother me to see it moved outside the stadium, or go away completely. But, I also realize I'm in the minority. It's a tradition, and they'll preserve it in some way.
Down the road, I would love to see it outside the stadium as part of a big landscaping and water feature, and use that space inside the stadium for seating. The demand has to be there first though.

I think there's more of us than you think. I think it's unimpressive inside the stadium. I'm with Semo. Move the whole thing somewhere else.

They'll have to go sooner or later, even if 20 years from now. Like semo's idea too.

I am ok with the Rock M inside the stadium. The one major problem I have with the Hill is that we lose noise that flows out the un-closed side. I think we need a bowl shape to the stadium, which will bounce sound back and forth. But I think it would be cool if they had seating along the hill with the Rock M in the Middle. Then hopefully in the future we coulc put seating Behind the Rock M also and complete the bowl shape to our stadium, trapping all of the noise in.
Like in this example for seating around and behind the Rock M to make a bowl shape in the stadium. By the way these are not my drawings:

But seriously though. Lets get rid of the track. Right Now.

I'm for the rock M, like most. I like the brick that will be going in at the bottom of the hill for this coming season.
I don't get why people are eager to have a generic stadium that looks like everyone else's.
Clemson has that hill thing going on, it's cool, it makes them different.
I have a feeling they won't give the new hill the proper vertical slope making it pancake too much, but we'll see how it turns out.
Anyone else think the giant photos of players outside the stadium is not very collegiate? I think that's tacky and more of an NFL thing.

Put me down for SEMO's idea. I'm surprised there are others out there who share my opinion.

Yeah, come to think of it. I'd rather have metal bleachers in place of the hill and rock M. Being unique is overrated, tradition is too. It's totally not cool that the same rocks have been in place for 90 years. Metal bleachers that will only be filled in for half the games make more sense.

I get the arguments for the rocks.
It is different, and part of a tradition.
But, it's still a pile of rocks. I just don't think it belongs in a football stadium.
However, I'm realistic. I know they aren't going anywhere, I'm cool with that.
I agree in regards to the giant posters. I'm hoping those are just render filler.

Over time the hill will probably get closed in some (similar to the picture in the thread). I think that will keep people on both sides of the argument happy.
If they ever did take them out, that idea of Semo's is really good.

I look at it this way. It's not that I want to get rid of the rocks. But hopefully somewhere way down the road, the time will come when they have to go because there is that demand for seats and if there is that much demand that must mean we are winning games. Not a bad thing. Lots of improvements to make before we ever get to the point of truly discussing putting in seats in place of the "M".

There will always be people that want cheap GA tickets, even if they are sitting on the rocks. Always. So I dont think they will ever go, especially not for the reason of people not wanting to sit on them. Now, all of that hill space? That just really doesnt make a tremendous amount of sense.

Wow, I had no idea my little idea would gain so much steam!
I realize the tradition of the rocks, and don't want to see them go away - I'm just not a huge fan of having them in the stadium. IF the demand is there down the road, the north endzone should be seats, and like Stripes mentioned, keep the noise inside the stadium.
And maybe they could make a tall/vertical fountain on that north concourse that features the Rock M. Really big, with water cascading down the M. The M might have to be made of smaller white rocks, with the traditional ones around the base - Missouri stones though, definitely. And native MIssouri plants.

I'm starting small with my lists for the North endzone improvements.
Hedges on the brick wall in front of them M should be required. Hell, in front of the brick wall all around the field. After all, we're SEC now
