Why?

Shannon coached on the field this past season for TCU, did Ash coach from the box for Wisconsin?

Seems like an advantage for us than a hindrance, having one in the box and the other on the field.

I wasn't talking about the Box/Field thing, more about the general approach that Shannon may not like being "below" a guy who isn't as proven as he is

I think it's a great hire but more wondering what you guys think about the dynamics

yea I don't think it'll be a problem he was a LB coach at TCU, made a vertical move to Arkansas and will probably get his shot at DC in a few years when Ash goes on to be HC somewhere.

Oh, I would say if it was a problem, he had other opportunities, he was reported to have been a candidate for the USF DC job and FIU (or some other Florida school that is open, I think it is that one) HC job.

He spent last season as TCU's LB coach and Dicus has never been a HC or wants to be either, so he isn't "more accomplished" than Shannon either.

I would say Shannon is waiting for the Miami mess to blow over so he can see if he can land something better, which is fine, no one expects him to be a long time LB coach for us.
