Why is everyone losing their shite over a guy that won 5 SEC games in 4 years against everyone but UK?

Tennessee was 9-23 in the SEC during Chaney's 4 years in Knoxville. Their offense averaged 11 points against SEC schools in 2011.

And he's fat.

We arent talking about Dooley. We want the OC. The Offense was not the problem at UT. He runs an O that is successful in the SEC.

And in 2011, Tyler Bray fricked up his hand in like the 2nd or 3rd game of the year. They had to use a QB fresh out of high school for like the entire year. They had no running game as well. Last year is way more representative.

And idc if he is fat or not. I want fricking Championships. As I have stated before, he could have shite caked to his face so long as we have a Top 3-5 Offense in the SEC.

I really wasn't super excited about bringing in Chaney. But when word on the street says its Chaney, Hill or Henson and then Chaney gets taken out of the picture, I'm considerably less excited.

And I think it's more about Pinkel's seeming intransigence than anything else. Not hopeful for next year.

He's a good OC and can bring a good SEC recruiter QB coach along with him.

Truth? I'd be satisfied with any one of the three really. But Chaney may bring in a fresh face and different attitude over the current internal coaches we have now. It wouldn't feel like buisness as usual with Chaney.

You are right. MU lucked out with not getting chaney. His offenses pre 2012 were dreadful. A flash in the pan hire would have been very short sighted. Chaney has struggled in the SEC and we are lucky arky picked him up since they will be our rival.

Is there a magic rabbit that Mizzou could pull out of the hat? Anyone that truly qualifies as a super star OC that hasn't been hired yet?

I'm probably just as disappointed or bummed that we didn't get Hinshaw as I am Chaney. Promoting from within just sounds like more of the same old but that might not be fair to Hill or Henson.

As much as we need a solid OC, we need a stud recruiter. Face it, almost everyone talks about how good of a class this is, and it well may be, but it still is 13th out of 14 teams in the SEC. We have got to start recruiting and landing a different level of athlete to compete in the SEC and I thought Hinshaw could help get us there and I thought getting Chaney would help us get Hinshaw.

He had an NFL qb, 2 NFL wrs, an NFL TE and 4 or 5 NFL o-lineman. It would've taken an idiot to not have a good offense.

Would love to have whoever recruited and landed the NFL qb, 2 NFL wrs, an NFL TE and 4 or 5 NFL o-lineman.

It's anyones guess as to what Chaney might have done here. No one knows how it all will play out. You could hire the top OC in the country and still have a dismal season. Then again this time next year Chaney may have a great season and I can hear it now about how Pinkel missed the boat again. Then again, Henson or whoever gets the job may come in and knock it out.

Who the hell knows? All we can do is set back and wait.

I mean he has had success at UT, the NFL, and Purdue. The only counter argument was 2011 when he didnt have his starting Quarterback for most of the year.

he also had 3 mediocre/poor years at UT. Does 1 good 3 bad = success at UT?

Its crazy honestly. I'm just staying away from Mizzou message boards until this thing gets settled.

So TN didn't have a very good offense when their starting QB wasn't healthy? Sounds almost like an excuse.

I think all this has more to do with the fact that the program looks rudderless at the moment.

GP says he's gonna right the ship, but the silence coming from CoMo is deafening. Not even really any leaks coming out of there at this point.

Honestly, lets just get the over with, and get to the business of getting back to winning.
