So, perusing some stats about Notre Dame, I'm finding some interesting things

Naturally, Tao is the leading tackler, but I was surprised to learn the next two leading tacklers were their DB's. In fact, 3 of their top 5 tacklers are DB's. In contrast, Bama's top 3 tacklers are LB's.
As far as rushing, ND's top two rushers are as follows:
Riddick 180 attempts for 880 yds 5 TD's
Wood 110 attempts for 740 yds 4 TD's
in comparison, Bama's are:
Lacy 184 attempts for 1182 yds and 16 TD's
Yeldon 154 attempts for 1000 yds and 11 TD's
Total touchdowns for each team and leading scorer for each team in TD's are as follows:
ND
36 TD's on the season. Riddick has the most, with 6.
Bama
65 TD's on the season. Lacy has the most, with 17.
This is gonna be a bloodletting.

Or Samoan? I mean, come on, Alabama has a guy of Polynesian descent on the roster in Issac Luatua.

I saw their 36 TD's, and thought, that's alot of rushing TD's. Bama may have a tough time. Then I saw that, really, that's ALL their TD's on the season.

NDs offense has gotten a little better as the year's progressed... they had a first-time starter at QB who is better now than he was 12 games ago.
This should be a close/good matchup... both teams have great OLs and fantastic front sevens... Bama has more experience and talent in the backfield, however.... I'm thinking 20-17 Bama.

As far as our RBs having the 250 yds more you got to remember they both ran wild in Bama's 13th game. But ND just didn't score a whole lot of points this season. All pretty close wins. But they gave up less than they got so they're 12-0.This may be a really good Ball Game. The last couple weren't very close.

Truly amazing that that are undefeated with this stat. Their defense has had to do A LOT of heavy lifting this year and they have been able to get the job done.

I'm thinking it's gonna be a 31-17 type game. Maybe a bigger separation than that.

We all remember what happened the last time the SEC ran into something overrated from Hawaii?
The best stats are from the Michigan game. ND gave up yards on the ground to a Michigan offense that was completely obliterated by Alabama. They gave up more first downs. They're a farce. The only thing they did was hold Michigan to fewer points, but I'm not sure if that's a meaningful statistic if you give up a few more points after taking 31 point lead in the second quarter. Second and third stringers got to get some experience sometime.

Just for some perspective:
Florida had 34 TD's against a rougher schedule.
The two offenses are comparable.
Driskel 140-216 (64%) 3 INT 1471 yards 11 TD
108 rushes, 409 yards, 4 TD
Golston 166-282 (58%) 5 INT 2135 yrads 11 TD
89 rushes, 305 yards, 5 TD
And that was against much weaker competition.
Tyler Eiffert is their best pass catcher. The only other partial threat they have is TJ Jones. Compare them to UF's anemic offense:
Eiffert - 44 rec 624 yards 4 TD
Jordan Reed - 44 rec 552 yards 3 TD
TJ Jones - 43 rec 559 yards 4 TD
Quinton Dunbar - 31 rec 306 yards 4 TD

And they have faced some great rushing teams and backs this year.
Le'Veon Bell (Michigan State)
Stepfan Taylor (Stanford)
Duke Johnson (Miami)
Blake Bell (Oklahoma)
Ray Graham (Pitt)
Silas Redd (USC)
Denard Robinson (Michigan)
It will interesting to see how Lacy and Yeldon do against this rushing D.
