Food for thought: What would each teams record be if they traded QB.

Fair enough.... give A&M florida's defensive talent.

If's and but's....

Also, Driskel was the top rated Dual threat QB in the nation coming out and is the same age as Manziel. Who's to say with better COACHING that Driskell wouldnt have looked significantly better OR that Manziel would have looked significantly worse with worse coaching. Sumlin is an offensive coach and Kliff Kingsburry was Offensive coordinator of the year last year at Houston with him and they had another guy (Case Keenum) in the running for the heisman. Yes, Manziel is a hell of a player but COACHING made him that much better.

Both did a great job but Sumlin was in his FIRST year while Boom was in his second year. Yes, that DOES make a difference because you know your personnel better and what their strengths and weakness' are.

Who's to say with a better OL and WR core that Driskell

Also, it was Pease's first year with JD too. Boom don't do offense so it matters not how long he's been the coach at UF in that regard.

So because Florida, a perennial power whose won 2 MNCs the last 6 years, wasn't expected to win 8 games, that clearly makes Muschamp more deserving than Sumlin?

Never mind that Sumlin coaches a program that's been at best mediocre for over a decade. Never mind that Sumlin's squad was projected to win at best 6 games. Never mind that Sumlin coached the best offense in the SEC (even though his gimick O was destines to fail), procured a freshman Heisman winner, and won 10 games (which hasn't been done in Aggieland in 14 years).

Are you high? The clear winner won.

Muschamp should clearly have won coach of the year. No one expected Florida to win more than 8 games this year, and he did it without the great savior Johnny Universe. How is it that everyone says that Chizik was a dumbass that only won because of Cam Newton, (a national title albeit), but Sumlin is coach of the year with a player who had even better numbers than Cam?

Muschamp took a trainwreck over and in 2 years had them a fumble away from playing in a National Championship, or at least an SEC championship.(Oh and I am pretty sure that they he beat the great Sumlin head to head.)

IMO Sumlin should have won....everybody was saying that Mizzou and TAMU would get mauled as SEC rookies, and while Mizzou struggled, TAMU rose to one of the top teams in the conference. I doubt anyone was predicting that before the season started....

UF was considered a darkhorse contender for the East: they had what was thought to be a top SEC defense, but with questions on the offensive side. But they had the talent....it was mostly a question on the coaching staff developing that talent and getting it all on the same page on the field in games...

IMO, both UF and TAMU had essentially the same seasons this year....but UF was ranked top 25 pre-season, and TAMU wasn't. Based on what both programs had coming into the season, IMO the Aggies have done more and surprised more...

Chizik was a dumbass....he had little to do with Newton and AU winning the '10 NC. Sumlin is the mastermind behind TAMU's resurgence, and no one knows who his OC is (a former Texas Tech wunderkind QB, isn't he?). Chizik's former OC is now a head coach. It's all pretty obvious to me....

Florida has an LSU problem... QB

We definitely have had some problems with our offense, but I don't think QB is one of the big ones. OL, WRs, and RB depth, on the other hand. . . . .

I don't think muschamp or any of these coaches care about these kind of awards anyway...

FWIW

When I heard about it I called no one and started zero threads about it.

If some FL fans say Muschamp was robbed, okay I believe it. Pretty subjective to say who is coach of the year. Don't know exactly what was going on in FL so he might well be the coach of the year.

I care slightly more than I don't care.

Muschamp makes a very strong case. You could have very well given the award to him.

But the same goes for Sumlin.

You can disagree, but don't say he got robbed. That's just ridiculous.

This. Same goes for Franklin & Freeze.

No one knew that Arky and MSU were going to suck so hard. We'll, maybe Arky.
