I really don't get the LSU fans being so unhappy with this.. Clemson is a good team and is a lot more appealing than almost all of the other matchups. Not to mention getting to play in a nice stadium in a good city in primetime on New Years Eve.. I think all of you are grossly overestimating your plight.. I mean would you rather go to the citrus bowl against Nebraska?

We're unhappy because:

(a) we were one stop/conversion away from playing UGA for the title berth last week, and
(b) we were NIU bullshite lucking into the top-16 away from an LSU/UT Cotton Bowl, which would beat the shite out of this matchup

it's less "baw our bowl sucks" (though it's not really that great anyway) and more "dammit, thisclose."

No but the bowls with these conference ties and limits allows for teams that don't deserve it to be going to major bowls. For instance.

Louisville vs Florida (better matchup - LSU/Georgia/TAM vs Florida in a rematch. More T.V. too.

Rose Bowl - Oregon 10-2 vs Wisconsin 7-5 (better matchup Oregon vs Georgia/LSU/TAM

Orange Bowl - Florida State vs NIU? Better game - Florida State vs LSU/Georgia/TAM

4 team playoff will be just as bad. Should have been 8 team minimum.
