This thread and Tiger rant say you're wrong.

Stupid fricking cajun.

I disagree vehemently with you and your strawman, but I will not sink to the personal attacks that you are going with. You are fired up either because you are this guy's family, have been railed by the legal freight train yourself, or you have unbridled naïveté about fairness and justice.

This case had overwhelming evidence, in state victim out of state actor, large publicity, and a deranged actor. He had no leverage. He probably deserved by the letter of the law much worse. I wouldn't change our sentencing guidelines for these types of crimes to protect a marginal guy when most people that engage in the type of conduct prescribed by our sexual battery statutes deserve the max.

DA's are elected in this state to get wins. When you are handed a slam dunk by stupid criminal, you throw it home. Any other solution would not have made sense in this case.

Learn some respect, governor. Otherwise, to you.

Absolutely false. DAs throw out marginal cases all the time, even many "slam dunks", because the marginal conviction isnt worth the time and effort.

Actions of similar severity as the one in this case are are punished by probation and community service or blown off altogether everyday. There are several major reasons why this one was not, and none of them have to do with justice.
