Guys,
I have been to allot of boards and read about the Alabama vs Georgia match up. There seems to be a perception that out there that somehow Alabama can not match up with Georgia offensively. Also that Georgia has a better pass rush and secondary. If you look at stats Alabama leads in every category including pass defense and sacks. In overall all defense its not even close. Alabama is # in total defense nationally while Georgia is #22. On offense Ga leads in total offense and passing offense while Alabama leads in rushing and total points per game. So my question is who do you like in these matchups and why.

I'm pretty confident in the Nick vs Mark matchup.

Duh.

Because we're fans.

(and UGA fans aren't going to acknowledge season stats on our defense when we were without 2 All American talents for 4 games and Jarvis Jones was gimpy mid-season).

If you guys establish the run game on us, you will be happy with your offense (because you will be able to pass on us).

If you guys rattle Murray early and limit our damage on the ground, then it could turn into a blowout loss for the Dawgs.

But we've got scenarios that work in our favor, too.
Right now... it's all just guessing.

Only matchup I'm really concerned is our o-line blocking the Bama D. I think our defense can shut Bama down and our offense will put up points if they can keep Bama out of the backfield.

That is a tall order though, if our line is beat all day(see USCe) then it will be a long day.

I'm honestly not even going to venture a guess at this. UGA was inconsistent on D the first part of the year and really started getting a feel for it in Nov.

The best I can offer is. Bama isn't the pushover people are making them out to be due to LSU/aTm.

UGA laid an egg against USCe, it doesn't represent the true ability of the team. As for our rush D, we played 2 triple option teams who together put up over 600 rushing yards despite scoring a combined 24 points.

It's going to be a good game, and assuming UGA doesn't lay the egg, it will be a close one.

I did not pose this question to insinuate that Ga can't beat Alabama. I actually like this Georgia team and believe this will be a good game. I am not predicting who will win. I was just curious how other people saw that matchup.

Our stats are skewed because we played a tougher schedule.

He's out for the season. ACL.
Yeah, there's a lot of optimism on our side. However, there is a nagging fear that either Murray, Richt and/or Bobo w/ shite the bed and we get blown out. If they do their jobs, should be a helluva game.

Your stats are skewed because of playing two triple option offenses in a row.

Your run defense is better than whatever is it ranked currently

How can anyone expect us to survive the grind that we faced this season?

After all... we have to line up and practice against OURSELVES every single day!

The minimum recovery time for acl tear is 2 months so I highly doubt even if he says he wants to go and seems to be in good health they would let him.

A lot of UGA fans feel that if Aaron Murray gets a clean pocket he can be successful against any defense. USCe and UF (first half) put a lot of pressure on him and it showed. Bama doesnt have a guy with huge sack numbers like a Jarvis or Clowney that UGA fans can point to and be worried about
