Arkansas fans, more bad blood? Houston Nutt (2008 OM) or Bobby Petrino (2013 AU)

Time to face reality Arkansas fans. Bobby Petrino will be the next coach at Auburn.

Now, I seem to remember there being a lot of bad blood between the Arky fanbase and Nutt/Ole Miss fans. The Ole Miss game literally became Arkansas' super bowl over the next couple of years.

Do you anticipate feeling the same way about AU/Petrino next year? Explain your reasoning.

There will be blood.

No for real though, people are going to say its a perfect match, given the "fact" we pay players and its been proven, right? We a dirty program, we get what we deserve, blah blah blah

Oh, and follow up question: Do you feel more pressure to be successful against Petrino since he was the one that brought you to the mountain top?

Petrino took us to our first BCS bowl and 11 wins for the first time in 40 years, all in 4 seasons. Nutt couldn't win a bowl game with McFadden, Jones and Hillis in the same backfield.

No Petrino never took us to Atlanta but he didnt get the fortune of a down SEC West like Nutt did a couple of times.

I'm pissed at Petrino for being a dumbshit but appreciate his success here and proving you can win 10+ games at Arkansas even when the West is a beast. I won't be mad if he goes elsewhere, I hope he fails and that we beat him though.

I never had anything against Ole Miss.

No, it didn't.

No. If Auburn hires Petrino, they would be hiring a good coach who ESPN and the national media love to hate.
Nutt is an average coach who succeeded with above average talent. ESPN and the national media love him dearly.

Y'all should hire Nutt.

You have that backwards, the Arkansas game was the only game Nutt gave a shite about while at Ole Miss and it showed.

Correct, but only his last two years.

I'm not mad either, but yeah I don't wish success for him at all. He laid in the barn with the horse so he might as well go to the barn to coach. I, however, reserve the right to laugh at Auburn fans getting shat on about what an arse he is from every direction- because believe me, we heard again and again and again what a pos he was- some people don't move on. Enjoy!

This guy gets it. He's also a bit of a liability as he's proven he is completely unreliable, but he's never been in trouble with the NCAA and never had issues with player discipline.

Never had major issues with the NCAA and never had player discipline problems is you do not consider B&E, robbery, DWI, assault, and smoking weed to be major issues.

Would be great if Auburn hired Petrino. Least then AUburn would stop getting the best Arkansas high school players.

That's the thing. If Auburn hires Petrino, the media will be on Petrino's (and Auburn's) butt 24/7, not leaving a stone unturned, in their pursuit to destroy him, along with Auburn football. I have no doubt. That's the only problem I can see and it's very real.
