Nope, not the Mizzou band. I know there is a music board, only sharing them here because they're from Springfield, MO and named after a park in the Ozarks. (Also, big Cards fans).
They sold out their shows in KC and STL the day before an after Thanksgiving. The show in STL was just awesome.
They hung out and drank with the fans during the opening shows, and hung out after too.
They're a solid little indie alt-country rock band. If that's your thing, check them out.
I give you, Ha Ha Tonka.

Ha Ha Tonka is a really good band with very serious critical acclaim. They're a band on the rise, for certain.
If you watch Anthony Bourdain's No Reservations - Missouri episode, he spends the night with Ha Ha Tonka listening to them play music and eating road kill.
No Reservations - Missouri is one of his absolute best episodes. He even spends time with the author of Winter's Bone (Academy Award nominated movie about a desperate Missouri girl looking for her meth dealing father). He and the author go gigging for fish on the Current River in the middle of the night. The author falls in the boat and breaks his collar bone.
Crazy episode.

Bourdain is one my favorite tv personalities.
His show is one of the only ones I watch. Sad No Reservations is done, but Layover is pretty much the same thing.
I got to talk to them for awhile, I can't believe I forgot about this episode until you said something..
And that Winter Bone author was really knowledgable. Anyone that watches that episode and still thinks we're primarily Yankees is a fool.
You're right, that was a great episode.
The only bad part was they went hunting with Nubs fans. The guys were complete losers.

I love Bourdain too. His new show on CNN will be similar to No Reservations I believe.
Was that the "Ozarks" episode or was there a "Missouri" episode too? I remember him being in Joplin....
I just started watching it a couple seasons ago.. but I've watched a lot of the old ones.

Well, the Ozarks episode was the Missouri episode because he spent his entire time in southern Missouri.
There were times when I thought this mutherfricker is exploiting the frick out of this great region. I live in Springfield and it isn't nearly as trashy and backwooded as the episode implies. This is a truly great (if not the greatest) area to live in the entire State of Missouri.
But then it all made sense when he said that one of his best friends was author Daniel Woodrell. I mean, the author nearly won an academy award for his portrayal of Missouri as backwooded meth country.
Bourdain had to confirm his friend's portrayal of Missouri by editing an entire episode to show the most backwooded stuff.
However, I said frick it and simply went for the ride.
Great episode.

Yeah that's what I thought, I couldn't completely remember though because I've watched so many episodes the past couple months.

His new show, The Layover, is on Travel Channel..
Does he have something else starting up on CNN?

Best Missouri band is "Puddle of Mudd", best song "Blurry"
Meh. When I used to think Budweiser was the best beer, The Point the best radio station, and the most grown up book I had read was a biography of Gordie Howe... I was also fooled into thinking this kind of music was good. I think Blurry made it on a few cd mixes..

Wow, that looks like it's going to be great.
What he says in that video is spot on.
Wish we had more people like Bourdain around..

That dude is wearing Pink Floyd Dark Side of the Moon shorts.
He's cool in my book.
