We already know that the BCS bowls will be the Georgia/Alabama winner and Florida.
1. Capital One isn't going to pick Georgia 2 years in a row, BUT there's also a rule that says the SEC title game loser can't fall below the Capital One Bowl IIRC
2. Chick Fil 'A will not match Clemson vs. South Carolina.
So what we have is a logjam.

#1 Bowl Championship Series. The winner of the SEC Championship Game gains an automatic berth to a BCS bowl game, preferentially the Allstate Sugar Bowl.
#2 The Capital One Bowl must select the team with the best overall record among non-BCS playing SEC teams, or a team within one game of the best record.
#3-4 The Cotton Bowl Classic has first pick of remaining teams from the Western Division, and the Outback Bowl typically picks a remaining team from the Eastern Division.
#5 The Chick-fil-A Bowl selects after those two bowls.
#6 The Gator Bowl receives the sixth pick.
#7-8 The Music City Bowl and the Liberty Bowl work with the SEC office to determine the seventh and eighth picks.
#9 The BBVA Compass Bowl receives the ninth choice of SEC teams. In years where the SEC does not have nine bowl eligible teams, the BBVA Compass Bowl will select from the Sun Belt Conference instead.
#10 The Independence Bowl receives the tenth pick.

UGA played in the Outback last year...
There is no rule like you stated above, SCjr played in the CFA Bowl in '10...

But the bowl guys will promote Johnny Heisman
Posted on 11/25/12 at 7:41 am to sooper_rebel
A&M will go to the Cotton. The Cotton bowl committee will be beside themselves with joy at the bonanza of pitting Texas v. Texas A&M and getting the Heisman winner. No way they take a boring LSU squad over the circus they could ignite otherwise. If you think differently you're engaging in a fair amount of cognitive dissonance.

There is absolutely NO WAY the a Cotton Bowl passes on A&M. I don't care wh they match up with, they're not dropping past Dallas.

I'm hearing mich will go to the cap 1 bowl. It would be very hard for them not to match up Les and Mich. Especially considering all the shite ESPN had stirred up over that issue.

LSU is a great squad, I'm not trying to take a dump on y'all, it's just that the A&M option sets off a frenzy over their bowl because of all the implications with Texas and LSU's style of play is not exciting, so it's a real big enthusiasm gap.

A lot of it depends on if Texas goes to the Cotton Bowl.
Assuming no major surprises, the Big 12 will look like this:
Kansas State 8-1 (11-1) <BCS>
Oklahoma 8-1 (10-2) <BCS>
Oklahoma State 6-3 (8-4) <Alamo>
Texas 5-4 (8-4) <Cotton>
If Texas beats Kansas State, however, you have a big fat mess.
Oklahoma 8-1 (10-2) <BCS>
Kansas State 7-2 (10-2)
Texas 6-3 (9-3)
Oklahoma State 6-3 (8-4)
Kansas State is not a BCS at large team. Would the Cotton snub a 10 win Kansas State AGAIN in favor of Texas? (1998 all over again) Probably.
Here's a bigger mess:
Kansas State 7-2 (10-2) <BCS>
Oklahoma 7-2 (9-3)
Texas 6-3 (9-3)
Oklahoma State 6-3 (8-4)
TCU 5-4 (8-4)
Would the Cotton Bowl take Texas over Oklahoma at that point or would the Cotton want to see Oklahoma vs. LSU?

Actually, it's not an issue. Back in 2010, the Cotton Bowl took a 9-3 A&M team over a 10-2 Missouri team and a 10-2 Oklahoma State team.
