GP was given a very specific outline of what was expected of this football program, and then an ultimatum after the Vandy game for how the season needed to finish. Obviously, failed miserably on both accounts. There will indeed be staff changes, and GP is pushing back against them. This is the reason his job is not as safe as most think. He thinks he can do whatever he wants in regards to this program, but I'm told by the best source there is that his equity here is nowhere near as high as he believes it is. Many of the money people are tiring of him, his public embarrassments of the school and obviously it all came to a head with this disaster of a season. I was told before the season that this was the most important season in the history of Mizzou athletics. They simply could not afford a failure and if it happened, it would not be tolerated. A handful of assistants are already gone, others are still under review.
It's my opinion GPs job is not in danger....yet. He is most definitely living on the edge though. If we get embarrassed at A&M that may change.
Well, maybe we arent as pussy as I originally assumed that we would be in regards to this.

Boom. Looks like I'm not the only one. Glad to hear it.

Next year, he either wins and saves his job or he is out from what I can gather. Not talking 6-6 and the outhouse bowl either. The days of that being considered passable are over. I will tell you, his very public comments about him demanding the AD and boosters step up and give him what he needs are really blowing up in his face. Nobody wants to hear that kind of thing from a guy who loses at home to Vandy and Cuse. I'm pretty sure he gets one more year, but I won't be completely shocked if we see something following the likely blowout at A&M.

Boom roasted. Turns out the people who write the big boy checks are disgusted as us. Gary is on a razor thin margin it appears and I for one am glad

I'm telling ya. aTm is going to hammer our asses. It's comming. I love Mizzou and have been a fan all my life, but it's gonna be ugly. Maybe they can return the favor we did for them last year with getting rid of thier last coach.

Number 1 on my list as well.
Andy Reid will most likely be available, he coached at Mizzou during the Stull era.

All I can say is that if the AD is ready to get rid of Pinkel after one bad season it better be a for sure upgrade.
Nothing can set a program back more than hiring someone that is a hot young coordinator that isnt proven and watching them fail as a HC.
Im with folks that think som changes need to happen inside the staff but be careful wishing to blow the whole thing up this soon after the move to the SEC. It could have negative and lasting implications for a decade.

I have been sold on Kirby Smart as well. Can you imagine what a dominant recruiter could do in this region? Who would compete with him. A coach that is used to recruiting against UF, UGA, LSU, Tenn, etc. And now they are walking into Iowa, Illini, Arky, KSU, let alone locking down this state.

We are already on that path. Might as well see if that path can be altered.

I think they see the writing on the wall. In this conference, mediocre seasons anymore.
If they keep Pinkel around, that can have a negative lasting effect also. It's already started with Ramirez decommiting. He said this season wasn't the main reason but it played a factor in the decision.
I guess, we get to see who the real true sons of Mizzou are.

There is definitely a line in the sand now.

That's like saying if you don't trust your president you're not a true American.
Is it possible to be a true son with a brain? Therefore you don't trust Pinkel, but you still love Mizzou?

Literally the quote was "I trust Pinkel and staff to right the ship, because by the grace of God I am a True Son."
Take from the quote what you want.

Can we nominate Pinkel for the UTEP job?
