How stupid does that sound now? Almost as stupid as being so dedicated to a false consistency that one cannot change their minds and admit they were wrong.

Mark Richt wins it all for the Dawgs and humbly celebrates with his former enemies. After all isn't making friends of your enemy the best way to rid yourself of enemies.

Think on that for a minute.

While I agree with this premise, I don't think many if any here considered Mark Richt their enemy.

Look Im excited we are in the SECCg, but the team better make a better showing then last year, or its all for nothing. While most of you might be ok with us becoming the Atlanta Braves of the SEC, I'm not. We need to win...Richt is not on the hot seat anymore, but don't forget it was a player that sparked this resurgence to get where were at. So, I agree, Richt should nto be on the hot seat, but how would you guys feel if we lost and dropped to a crappy bowl? I have a severe love/hate relationship with Richt.

CMR should've had the players better prepared for the game at Carolina, but apparently the spark to win has to come from the players- as evidenced by Shawn Williams' breakthrough with the defense's snooze button. They have to want to win, and it looks like since WLOCP, they finally do.

Sandwich, we'll never be like the Yankees so would you rather us follow the Marlin model or the Braves?

Richt will remain on the hot seat, for me, until he brings home a T-I-T-L-E

And that's fine from a fan perspective but realistically Richt has never been on the hot-seat in the view of our school administration.

We wouldn't even be in the position we are in right now if we didn't get outside help from other teams losing. Not once in CMR's career have we been able to control our own destiny from start to finish. We need to send thank you letters to Stanford, Baylor, and Shawn Williams before we send one to Richt. Of course 10-1 is nothing to laugh about and if we win it all any hot seat talk about Richt should be buried for years to come BUT we need to remind ourselves that the title came at the help of outside parties.

Yeah, I don't think Richt has ever been in danger of being fired even when the fan base was howling.

Does it bother you that you just don't seem to bother any of us?

Couldn't most teams that have played for the MNC have said this. Sometimes you get the breaks and others you don't.

I agree but I feel like we got a HUGE break this past weekend. Plus, it's not like we're proving to be a NCG caliber team right now as evidenced by the media already proclaiming a Notre Dame vs. Alabama matchup in Miami. All of these perceptions of Mark Richt can change in the next 2 weeks though.

Go back and tell us Dawgrush how many champs controlled their own destiny from start to finish. Probably not many. We are in position now to control our own destiny and appx 117 teams aren't. I'll take that every yr, wouldn't you really?

Pretty sure Bama did it in 2010.

Also LSU last year (even though they lost the NCG) with arguably the toughest schedule in CFB history. The point I'm trying to make is that if K-State and Oregon had both won last weekend our perception of CMR would not have changed. I just don't see how all of a sudden CMR is "proving all of the doubters wrong" when he didn't contribute anything at all to the losses of Oregon and Kansas State. Now as I said if he does manage to win the Natty then yes the perception of CMR should change but right now he still hasn't proven anything.

I'm not saying MR gets all the credit. I'm just saying we are right where we want to be this time of the yr. Why does it matter how we got here. Geez......enjoy it.It's been 32 yrs in the making.
