1) Can Georgia's offensive line handle Hubbard, Mosley, and Williams?

Earlier this year, Georgia faced an excellent and excited South Carolina D-line that took over that game. However, Georgia's offensive line also faced Florida's D-line, which is more similar to Bama's and did not allow a sack. I am hopeful that the more recent result against Florida is indicative of the O-line that comes to Atlanta but concerned that a true freshman right tackle, Theus, and junior college left tackle, Beard, will face a Saban designed pressure/blitz system.

2) Will Georgia be able to stop the run without bringing additional help into the box?

If Georgia is forced to step Rambo/S. Williams down, the probability that a receiver breaks free becomes a major issue. However, I am certain that D.J. Fluker will have his lunch eaten by J. Jones or J. Jenkins during this game. He doesn't appear to have very quick feet, when facing an elite edge rusher.

3) Will Georgia make another special teams mistake?

This game will be decided by AJ and Murray. If AJ has a good day I don't think UGA will match it. If he has a bad day and Murray has a good day then UGA win. If they both suck it will be a coin toss.

I am a Gator, but I see Fla. as several skill players away from a NC team which is obvious. I see UGA having a problem if Murray gets hurt. He never comes out of a game, the backup gets no meaningful playing time no matter how great the UGA fans thinks he would be. Last week A.J. threw six passes and came out in the 2nd qtr. Murray threw 4 t.d.'s and came out with six minutes to go in the game, as is usually the case. Check out the team stats in today's AJC. Bama is right up at the top in points scored and points not given up and the backups get plenty of playing time in meaningful situations. Remember what happened to Texas when they lost Colt McCoy early and the backup wasn't really ready to play.

UGA will take Bama behind the woodshed...mark it down....or not.

SECCG in Hotlanta helps the canines.

Having Bama line up against them doesnt.

Could be upset city...of course this saturday will see Kelly and Neuter Dame choke a big one and collpase in SoCal. Next up: Univ of Florida!

A.J. hasn't played in the second half of some games and has thrown 21 tds. In 4 games against ranked opponents, A. J. has thrown 7 td passes and 2 ints.

Murray has played almost all his teams' possessions and has 60 more attempts and 7 more tds.

Against the two ranked opponents Murray has 1 td pass and 4 ints.

Playing as good as anyone against who??? Georgia will always be a mid level SEC program that can't win the big games just like Stoops and Chokelahoma!!

Better than being a mid level school that a functioning moron can attend.

You forgot #19 Michigan...say what you want about them but they were and are ranked.

Throw MSU in there who was ranked #11 when we played, and are currently #24 or 25 in both the AP and coaches poll and his numbers against ranked teams are very good.

I watched Morgan warm up after halftime at AU, and he missed a 25 yard attempt

Dude, you're talking about WARM UPS. I've seen him make 50+ yarders in warm ups, so what? And btw, he's also made a 52 yarder this year in a...real game.

quote:

As for punting, Georgia is 13th in the conference in net punt average at 35.8 yards per punt and 12th at 40.6, if you use average punt. In contrast, Alabama is 7th in net punting at 39.1 and 5th in average punt at 43.9

So our punter punts it 41 yards and theirs punts it 44. Whoopedy do, you're talking about 12 friggin feet longer. And our punts net 36 yards while theirs net 40. Again, 4 yards. I'm not real concerned about that.

quote:

(Scott-Wesley, Marshall, Gurley, King, Connley),

Every one of those would be a colossal mistake. JSW is a raw, raw track guy playing WR that has seen extremely limited action this year. You want him returning a punt with the SEC on the line? Lol, ok. Marshall and Gurley are by a mile our best RBs and if either were to get hurt we're in trouble. King is our best overall WR, and with both MBs hurt Conley is the next best option we have to go over the middle and play in the slot. If we lost any of those guys (except JSW, who would be far more apt to return kicks than punts) we'd never hear the end of how bad a decision it was by Richt.

quote:

If you believe fair catching is the answer

I don't believe it is the answer, I want to see some damn returns. I think Mitchell is plenty capable he's just dumb sometimes. I'd be perfectly fine with Rhett, except he completely shattered my view of him when he fumbled last week. We dont' need anoter Fair Catch McCranie or logan gray back there. But by God I'd rather fair catch it and start anew than fumble or run backwards 10 yards. To be honest, Wooten might be our best option, don't know why he hasn't given it a shot.

quote:

I want Georgia to win but would not be surprised if special teams caused UGA problems.

I mean yeah I can see MM missing a field goal or us giving up a 15 yard punt return or something..but you make it seem like we are just the abosolute worst ST unit in the nation and bama is the best at it. I got news for ya, last year's LSU special teams is twice as good as this bama one. LSU could kick, punt, and return kicks better than anyone.

Pretty sure any school in the country would have a problem if their frickin starting QB went down.

quote:

He never comes out of a game, the backup gets no meaningful playing time no matter how great the UGA fans thinks he would be

Because our second best QB is redshirting to get class separation from Murray. Lemay is trash, and the next QB off the bench (that has played when we've sat Murray) is a walkon. Nobody is claiming any of our backups (other than the one that is redshirting) are any good.

quote:

Remember what happened to Texas when they lost Colt McCoy early and the backup wasn't really ready to play.

Remember what happened with Driskell got hurt? Oh yeah, florida's shitty offense got even shittier. I'm sure if AJM went down bama would be in a world of hurt too, just like we would.

It really doesn't. The crowd will be maybe 65/35 UGA, but I mean bama still gets half the allotment just like we do. It sure didnt' help us last year.

Bama's only 2 losses the last 2 years have been at home. Bama is a better road team than home team.

It won't be 65/35 UGA in the Dome. It will be very close to 50/50. Bama gets the same allotment and our fans are insane and will buy up their fair share of tickets on the open market whatever the price.

I expect the game to be close. Likely turnovers will decide it. Bama needs to get back on form and take care of the football, which they haven't done the last two games. They do that, they win.

Each school gets the same amount of tickets from the schools, yes. But the tickets being sold to the public, to business and corporations, etc. will all heavily favor UGA.

That is what LSU said for the BCSCG in New Orleans. Turned out to be closer to 50-50.

To play Devil's advocate, playing in the national title game in New Orleans (against a team that beat you a few months ago) might have been more of a draw to a casual bama fan than the SECCG in Atlanta. A lot of young people I know that are strapped for money aren't going to the tech game to save money for the SECCG. I would imagine a lot of little bit older bama fans might be sitting this one out to save up for Miami.

But I digress..it will not be 50/50. There will absolutely be more UGA fans than bama fans in there.

GA loses because overall series record stands 36-24-3 in favor of ALA.

Richt's wins in 2002 and 2003 won't help him now.

He is 1-1 v Saban, beating him in 2007 when Bama went 7-6. Since then, Saban is 58-7. That is winning 89% of your games.
