For next year, what's up with the Fightin' Texas Aggie Band only going to 2 away games? Is it out of concern over academics or just money? If academics... well, OK. Hard to believe it is money, but IF IT IS, is there any way this can be taken care of for next year (as in a fund solely for their travel)? It's a cryin' shame that our new SEC brethren for the most part only see those guys every other year, and possibly never for SEC East teams. Is there anything to be done?

Raise more money..... I have heard that it costs at least 500,000 per trip.

Money.
Costs almost $500,000 to charter a flight, house the upperclassmen, bring the instruments, and pay for meals. (They're college kids, remember)
For bus trips with the whole band, it's close to $300,000/trip.

A&M trying to establish some kind of endowment for band travel costs.
I heard that travel costs are almost triple for SEC games due to distance.

Where is the FTAB going? Fayetteville and Baton Rouge?

Fayetteville and Baton Rouge are bus trips. They'd likely take the whole band. They only went to Tuscaloosa and Oxford (SEC road games) this season.
