Not buying the he's not smart enough to pick up the playbook anymore when he's smart enough to draw up plays that work.

The playbook was only 33% of DGB's problems to start the year. The other stuff was 33% reading defenses and making the correct adjustment and the final 33% was playing at full speed.

Good for DGB. I mean that. But let's not pretend this makes him one of the sharper tools in the shed, he's still a box of rocks. But glad he has an aptitude for things on the football field. And I see a small difference between 'drawing up a play' and saying 'I'm going to run a little further than my route'... but that's just me.
And notsince.. I think a large % was simply the coaches not giving him too much too soon (along with those things you mentioned).

He's still learning. He lined up on the wrong side once Saturday. Biggest difference is he's confident now. He's not thinking about what to do out there.
