You aggies are indeed clever!

The SEC needed another little brother and now here you are.

All shiny and new and apparently quite gifted in polite conversation.

The best part is flying into luxurious College Station. Waiting on the one cab in town to take you to their Motel Six...ummm I mean the Hilton that still has gold wall paper from the Nixon Administration on the walls in the rooms. You ask if there is something nicer and they get all offended and tell you that it is like their Biltmore or something.

I live in Mobile and drove to the Bama/Michigan game in Dalllas via Lafayette, La. Other than the Atchafalaya Basin between Baton Rouge and Lafayette which is kinda neat, the entire drive is pretty ho hum. The interstate stretch between Lafayette, La and Shreveport, La eclipses the stretch between Mobile, Al and Montgomery, Al as the most boring stretch of interstate I've ever been on outside of Kansas, Oklahoma, and the Texas panhandle which amazingly were even worse.

I see people making the distinction between I-20 through East Texas and interstates in the Deep South having more farms and that's true. However, that doesn't mean the South doesn't have similar stretches. Highway 80 that runs from the Mississippi/Alabama border thru Montgomery that merges into I-85 on through Auburn is very similar to I-20 in East Texas. That's the Blackbelt Region of Alabama which is one of the most fertile farming areas you'll time anywhere.

I-20 between Birmingham and Atlanta and I-65 between Birmingham and Nashville are MUCH prettier stretches than any drive in East Texas though.

They can't meet Aggies in real life... the poors don't mix with the upper class in real life.

Alabama is trash... the SEC has good football but thats about it....we will just have to deal with being on a different social and academic level than most SEC fans.

The SEC is a much more well rounded league academically than the Big 12 so spare us the idea that your having to lower your expectations of opposing SEC schools and their fans in comparison to the Big 12. The arrogance displayed in your post is why so many people despise your state.

People despise Texas due to jealously. In Texas, we have a saying: "Never ask a man where he's from. If he is from Texas, he'll tell you. Otherwise, don't embarrass him."

College Station is an exurb of Houston. The money doesn't stay there. There's no need for nice accommodations there, because there's not much business aside from what leeches from the University and tech companies set up to feed off of the research done there. We don't LIVE in College Station after graduation. We live in Houston, Dallas, and Austin, which are larger and nicer than anything in the South aside from Atlanta (not counting Miami since S FL is not the South).

College Station is what it is - it serves its purpose, as a college town. Most Ags just make the short drive up from Houston and then back down after the game, so there isn't much monetary incentive to build swanky hotels so some Gumps, Grinders, and Cajuns (who wouldn't appreciate nice things anyway) can stay there a few times a year.

Let me help you aggies with this one. You are to reply with something like this...we are scared...very scared. We can't see any way that aTm can possibly beat the Gumps but we will go ahead and pull for them regardless. This years Bama team might be the best of all time. The NFL should just go ahead and move the draft to the Bama campus seeing as how 3/4 of their team will be chosen in the first round.

That, a jar of vasoline, and one of their sisters will help these guys get on with their day. It might also prevent 738,922 more threads asking you to tell them how great they are.

You finish with
the Gumps!

There are very few Aggie posts on the Rivals board. 597,829 posts on Scout board. Maybe a few hundred posts here.

There are 5.2 million posts on the TexasAgs site. Just looking at the numbers one would assume that the MAJORITY of Aggies post on that board.
