Saw Dixon is out yet again for the opener. Any ideas on how long this is going to go on for? Must be something relatively serious. That's 3 games now. Any ideas what the hell happened? Could just be grades but something tells me its more than that with 3 games now.

I find it hard to believe its grades.

He was suspended at the exact same time as Bull, if I was a betting man I'd say they got in trouble for something.

I also kind of doubt the team has academic standards that are higher than the NCAAs... if he's eligible then he'd be playing. But I could be totally wrong.

Ya know, I really don't give a shite what he got in trouble for. What I wish Haith would come out and say is how long Dixon is out for. Even if he said 4 games and then it will be re-evaluated. This not knowing a damn thing about how long he's out is driving me nuts. And yes, me going nuts is a good enough reason for Haith to answer me.

Grades are tricky. He wouldn't become academically ineligible until the final grades for the semester are posted. The NCAA doesn't care what the running grades are during the semester. If he was ineligible due to grades, it would be from last semester and he would not be eligible again until the grades from this semester are posted and his GPA is high enough along with the number of earned credits.

As for the timing with Bull, maybe they got caught skipping a class and Bulls grades are fine but Dixon's not so much. Or maybe Bull just needed to turn in some homework and his grades were back up. I think Haith does monitor grades during the semester and it wouldn't surprise me if he found out Dixon wasn't doing so hot in a couple of classes.

I agree with this. Every one of these kids on scholarship has an advisor who monitors their grades and classes on a daily basis and reports back to the team. The report probably came back that he won't pass his classes at the rate he is going and he won't be playing till that changes.
