I feel terrible for him for what our staff has done to his possible career.

Oh really? Whose minutes should he be taking right now, gurley, tree, or Herrera?

He was supposed to be playing FB, so he wouldn't be "taking" any of those minutes. But the staff has royally fricked him. I mean they started him WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYY too early, and he failed. You could see the boy has raw athletic ability, but they haven't kept him somewhere long enough to succeed. I believe it was Tripp they did the same thing to. They kept saying, "oh, we need him to fill this need", then never let him play.

I hope they leave Malcolm Mitchellrr on offense so they don't do the same thing to him.

I agree. You'll notice it slowed him down converting back to WR. He is slowing getting back to playing like his first season.

What?

That doesn't always mean they'll be superstars dude. And if Grantham couldn't find a spot for RS4 to get some meaningful snaps, I doubt he has the chops. I will say that they should have never made him a RB, put him at LB for four years and he might have been a good player.

But who knows, and why are we bitching about something we can't do anything about now.

You realize he was 17 when he was PLAYING for UGA his freshman year, right? He should have never been put on offense. EVER. Five minutes at the position and you could see he didn't belong. I never said for sure he would have turned out to be a great player, but had he been left at LB for his career I think you would see a Rennie Curran type of player.

That was Ealey (and/or King).

When our offense needed a spark in last year's Florida game, Samuel was there to provide it and, even though the stats may not reflect it, it was his best and most determined game as a Bulldog. DGD and I love the guy for his dedication to the university.

I don't feel terrible for him but I do agree that he could have possibly been utilized better. But the kid has a degree from UGA and got to do alot more than many will ever be able to do.

I have been a RS fan for a long time. I bet he gets some snaps before all is said and done this year.

How bout that hit he made on special teams a few games ago? He is a coach's player...i.e. he will do whatever is necessary and is unselfish.

DGD!!

Actually, I think the coaches have done alot more than they would for most players to find him a spot instead of letting him get burried on the depth chart. With his speed and size, if he could play defense, he'd be there. I was really hoping to see him play well at FB, but he is essentially behind 3 guys there. He could not even beat out Zander.

thats what i was tying to say...alot of guys never see the field...ever..just think he started off wrong as many others have stated here...

i hope that JJ Green from Camden gets put in the right spot...recruited as a corner but plays very well on offense...we shall see..

Total BS...Ok he can't beat out a Merritt Hall (walk on) or Ogletree @ FB...and just doesn't have the athleticism to compete @ LB...bless 'em for his team attitude but he just 5 star kid that flamed out @ the FBS level.

Not sure I agree with this. I love Richard Samuel as a DGD but after watching him over the years I don't think he has good lateral movement necessary to be successful at both LB and RB. FB might be his best position but again the lateral movement is probably an issue when blocking. It could be a coaching issue but I don't think so. Fortunately Richard is a smart guy and I wish him.
