Generally, teams that play close games are on par with each other.

A&M is on par with Ole Miss then.

Certainly auburn at 1-6 is on par with LSU at 7-1.

LSU and A&M played a close game, but the programs are galaxies away in accomplishments and overall prestige.

Um, what was the LSU-Auburn score, Sparky? Not sure I'd use this as a nugget in my debate.

This. Some of them are trying so hard to justify the loss. Typical we made mistakes LSU didn't beat us type talk. They will get another shot next year. Good luck until then.

Not denying this.

Which is what is implied by "on par."

Now you're changing the argument. What I meant was that on October 20, 2012, the LSU and A&M football squads were very close to even on the gridiron. That's not a fact to get your panties in a wad over, and it's not a moral victory for A&M.

FWIW, you get no points for previous accomplishments or overall prestige when playing a game.
