Some ordinarily reliable Auburn folk are tweeting that:
(A) announcement this week
(B) BVG as interim
(C) head coach deal is already done
(D) this was done before Vandy.
This has been floating around for the last 2 days around Auburn. No idea of true, just posting it along....

That was on the AUF board. A poster pretty much surmised this from the tone and suggestions of a bunch of posts there and primarily from the 2 ST tweets that have people thinking this.
I believe it is certainly a possibility but that is where it is coming from.
Just to clarify, no one is tweeting this. It is just speculation but with legs due to the ST tweets leading people to believe decisions were being made back in AU today while the team played.

That and 2 of my friends that hang out with Jay Jacobs and all of the "big boys" in the athletic program have said the same thing to me starting this morning.

Yeah, my parents are thinking this is a strong possibility as well and they are pretty connected in their network of alumni that goes back a long way and to former BOT members.

The following is in response to Beaver's post stating that JJ would most likely be staying if a hire was made.
This is not true. I've read on pay sites that there is a push from the Boosters/BOT to go ahead and lock up Petrino, then deal with the AD fiasco... They are well aware of how shitty our AD has been and that is the next step in the process... They (boosters/BOT) just don't want Petrino to go to a school that may offer before us, i.e. UT or Kentucky.... The wheels have been in motion, now they are just gaining speed and at a rapid pace.... You can take that to the bank.
Jay Jacobs and Tim Jackson will relatively soon be gone.

I know one thing, if Chiz is getting canned this weekend, they damn well better get rid Jacobs and company. I wouldn't let Jacobs fold my clothes, let alone be involved with the hiring process for our next coach.
